for anyone who has self installed the trunk spoiler... not the lip... but the regular spoiler...

if you guys have the template, is there any way you can send it to me? i'll pay for shipping and what not. i dont think you would need it after the spoiler is installed.

Why don't you drive to your local dealership and ask them for one of their extra templates? With the number of spoilers they've installed on TLs, I'm sure they have many many extra templates lying around!

 

i thoguht about that.. but what are the chances that they would just give me one

the acura dealer close to my pad is crappy. horrible service. i dont think they would just give it to me. they would say something like...

"if i gave it to you, and you messed up on the install. you could come back and hold me liable."

 

I don't see how they can make that connection - but why don't you give them a call and try first. Or go to any other dealer near you. You're in Irvine - there are surely several dealerships with plenty of cardboard templates!

 

What is the template used for? Could you not cut your own?

 

It's to align the rear spoiler with your trunk to ensure proper fit. You *could* cut your own, but without anything to start with it'd be hard to do.

 

So does anyone have the template? I asked the dealership and they said they only have one master set for all of their cars and they wouldn't lend it out to me.

 

maybe someone can scan theirs...I too would like one, soon to buy a spoiler from R&D at $170 painted, but I'm not too sure of their method of installation, they say place the spoiler in place, there are "thingies" that are attached to the support screws that once you've got it where you want it, you peel this thingies and drill there ..kind of too much room for error, but you can't beat the price...painted..ohhahh

Sorry, can't help with the template. You should check with the guy that actually installs the spoilers and ask him if he can help you.

 

you can actually go to an acura dealership and ask them for a template. all of their spoilers come from the factory and they are all packed the same way... with the template.

go to your acura dealer and ask if they have one. if not, then ask them to hold on to one when they do an install. they should do it for you
