In the past/present Honda's have required a drain and fill due to most Honda automatic transmissions not having a serviceable filter. Filters were built in the transmission and it would have to be taken apart to replace the "filter"
With the TL in my findings on this forum it has a serviceable filter, so I don't see what can go wrong with a machine flush as long as the correct fluid type is used. Just ensure the filter is replaced upon completion.

As well, many of these machines force fluid into the transmission and suck it out with a great deal of force and can damage seals and other components that are meant to hold fluid.
The best thing to do is the 3 x 3 at a minimum.
The guy at the oiol change place who offered to use the machine said I would have to sign a waiver because of my mileage (140K). He said he used it on one lady's car and she didnt make it a mile down the road bc her tranny gave out. he said it could damage the pressure plate, whatever that is.
