Pics Included - Today was the day, picked up '04 6MT TL - first impressions....

Well, today was the day. Picked up my '04 TL 6MT Anthracite/Ebony.

During the 130 mile drive home I had plenty of time to try out the interior features. XM Radio - could certainly get hooked on it. No vibrations to speak of, no 'humming' at certain RPM's noticed, and no rattles yet (car just came in this week....so it was supposedly built just a couple of weeks ago). I do miss the pure power of my chipped S4, but the TL does so many things well....plus it's only got 140 miles are so on it!

Any question, feel free to ask. Loving the car! Just getting familiar with the bluetooth options, storing phone numbers, etc. I don't even have a bluetooth phone yet, but I still get a kick out of loading phone numbers into the system via voice recognition.

Why the 130 mile drive to McGrath to buy your TL? I've looked there a couple times, but I haven't been too impressed with the salesman's competence. Do you have a recommendation? Did you get a good deal?

My dealer wouldn't move on the price (Zimbrick of Madison). I got a $30,900 price of McGrath and THEN Zimbrick decided to match it. I felt the need to give my business to the dealer that wanted to earn my business. See Reid Neuman (internet sales mgr) at McGrath, VERY good to work with. Tell him Travis Thompson sent you.

tgt,

Was that the new McGrath Acura that moved to Morton Grove? I stopped in there once and was impressed with their underground new car storage in the basement. Did they have the car or did you have to order it? If you ordered it, how long of a wait?

I'm thinking of ordering an Abyss Blue Pearl with the 6 speed. Reminds me of my Cobalt Blue Pearl '90 Legend Sedan I had with a 5 speed. That was a nice sports sedan at the time.

Thanks.

Yep, that's the McGrath. They didn't have EXACTLY what I wanted, but looked through what they had coming in and I put down a $1000 deposit on the exact vehicle I wanted (took 3 weeks, but I didn't have to order since they already had an allocation for one). Very pleasant buying experience.

I haven't been to the New facility in Morton Grove, but I will say the one is Westmont is excellent. When I bought my 02 there, they were the only Acura dealer in the area that would sit down and talk reasonable numbers. Even though my salesman has since left, I still receive email's phone calls from another salesperson.

Talk with Grant Goering and tell him I sent you.
