TL is a very wise purchase

So after driving my 08 TL now intermittently for 2 weeks, I came to the conclusion that this car is a great all around car - it's the kind of purchase that makes you feel you made a wise decision buying it

I had my fair share of pure sports cars through the years - which were not necessarily wise purchases

The TL is spacious enough for a family, great on gas for a V6, really good handling for street use and for a FWD, excellent interior, seats, and stereo, a perfect perfect balance between sport and comfort in terms of suspension design and tuning, etc....

Great car

Agreed. That's why I had one, sold it for something else, then was back in one less than a year later! Realized it was the compete package.

Yep- I have been driving my TL for over 6 years now and it still always puts a smile on my face. I still like the design and all the creature comforts it has and it has been very reliable too.

Do you mind me asking how much you paid for that? yup xx,xxx. Wow why so cheap? Because its 5 years old. WHAT? That car is 5 years old, it looks brand new.

HAHAHA actual conversation I had with someone at a gas station.

I thoroughly enjoy owning and driving my TL.

^ I have had that happen to me a couple times recently, haha. People are shocked after I tell them its a 2008 with 94k on it. Acura was on par with the 3g design. There really isn't a bad angle.

I'm going to be honest. I said I was done with nice cars. I bought my TL last month as our new family car and I love to drive again. It really is an amazing vehicle. For the price, it's really really top notch.

While I agree with the comments above and think my TL is the wisest buying decision I've made to date, I wonder if all of us on this forum are so into ourselves to think the TL is the best car ever(obviously in v6, family sedan etc context). I just turned 21, TL is my 2nd car and AZ is the 1st forum I ever joined so I don't know how other forums are. I wonder if people in the Lexus IS, G35/37 infiniti etc forums tell themselves the same thing, that their car are the best ever.

i'm at 132xxx now and it's been only since the previous August I bought it at 103xxx

My regular commute does not even call for that much driving, just gotta drive to maintain sanity

It is definitely an all around vehicle, not exceptional at one or few task but good at all... perhaps it is exceptional @ being well rounded =p

prior to my 08 tl-s which i bought 1 month ago. i had turbo b series civics (latest one i had was 400whp b16a 1998 civic)

and while i fuuuucking miss the RAWness and SPEED of those little civics, the TL does everything amazing. off the track, the power is more than enough. the styling, the looks, the luxury. for it's price no car can compare in it's category

Miles = Smiles. There is nothing mileage can do to your car that cant be undone.....gives you more excuses for upgrades!!

everyday im tempted to buy another car with 2013 features (side mirror cameras and blind spot sensor) like the 2013 Honda Accord Coupe, but the look of the 3G TL always keeps me from selling it, i have yet to see a car that tops the look of the TL. and its soo true when they say the TL has no bad angles. FOr instance the side profile of the 2013 Accord is ugly. My only regret about my car was that I didnt get it brand new.

3G TL looks better than a lot of cars on the road. Beautiful machine.

still in love with my TL-S but the new cars (even kias) are coming out with some crazy tech features and way better than cars that are two to 3 years older.

Thumbs up Considering 2008 TL-S now

After owning a 2006 TL navi since new (now at 116K miles and just got TB/WP and plugs done) and two NSX's in garage as well. The 2009 and newer TL's do nothing for me...

Bought my 05 6MTw/NAV in 2010 with 55k miles. When i got her, the nav screen still had the plastic saranwrap-like cover over it (stupid ex peeled it off ) and i am the third (and hopefully last) owner. Best car for the money imho. 05 model car still looking better then 2013+ models. I miss the power of my 2g turbo dsm, but i smile knowing my car will crank every morning . I do wonder how they do as family cars though (fiance has a bun in the oven).

Our '06 has side curtain bags - does your 2005? Right there would be a bonus in a fambily sedan
Maybe you have a lookup of the Gubmint crash ratings for '05 TL, too. As I recall, it scored decent or above.

The next 10 years are going to be a wild ride on that front. ~2018 model year is about when the first self driving cars might hit the market. GPS isn't enough for me to upgrade but some real meaningful tech features are on the horizon.
