Not too many in Cleveland, OH; even less in Birmingham, AL where I moved from...I am however seeing even less of the 3rd Gen TL-S's.

I've only seen a couple on the road here in Phoenix. Where I work there is mine plus an older lady (50+) drives one. Other than that I don't think I've seen more than 1 or 2 since I purchased mine back in Sept.07

Well type-s only came out since late 06 and the auto sales has been sluggish to say the least here in the US duing 07 & early 08, so taking that into consideration, only us die-hards would get the type-s

While the regular 3G TL has been around since 04, so maybe that's why we see many TL, but not that many type-s?

I have no problem about type-s being not-so-common cuz everytime i see a G35 or Es350, i would have a big grin knowing that I "probably' got a better overall deal than the other driver ... (yeah .. i know i am vain .. LOL )

Yup I agree, I was thinking about this same thing some time ago type Ss have been a rare sight to me too. I see plenty at the meets and the dealer and on this site but they are much more rare on the road in real life.......Well the car has only been out a year and a half, while the older models have been there 4 and a half.

Keeop in mind the TL was out 3 full years or about 150,000 of them sod before the Type-S was released and then I heard they exepcted like 40% Type-S sales, but I doubt that, I have never seena dealer with more than say 10-20% Type-S on lot, so now after 4 years you have maybe 200,000 regular 3G TLs and maybe 15,000-20,000 Type-S if that!! Atlanta has a huge concentration of TL's my gf and I refer to them as Camrys, but the Type is far more rare, but I do see them.

I drive all over North Metro ATL, I see them, a couple a week, see mostly Black, silver and Blue, and a rare Carbon Bronze, but not sure if I have seen the red on the road.

I think I've seen a handfull since their release in my area. I just picked up a black 08 Type S. It was the only one on the lot. The sales person said when they get them they only stay on the lot but a few days...

Dealer told me they've been sold in my area before, but I've never seen them. I decided to get the CBP with the two-toned seats, and I honestly don't think the dealer had ever seen it before (it wasn't on the lot--I just took a good guess). When it arrived, all the salespeople were out admiring it.

Next thing I know, a while later, here shows up an exact replica, same colors, at a grocery store in my area of town.

I have seen a few on the road, but not many. Every time I see a TL, I check if it is a Type-S. I guess the fact that they have been making the Base TLs since 2004 and the TL-Ss only since 2007 is also a factor.

I was behind someone with the exact same car as me a couple of months ago on 95 South. He was going to fast for me to see who was driving

I see tons of the base TL in the Nova/DC area and probably 5 of the Type S a week. Stopped at a light beside a carbon bronze one last night. Kept trying to give the guy a nod or thumbs up, but he wouldn't look over at me.

It's quite simple: It's only been out for a year and a half!
