Recently on my trip from nyc to philly I had 30-31 mpg then entire way with 74 mph as my average speed. I envy your 32 mpg.

I made less than a full tank from LA to South Bay, and I was over 85 MPG most of the time....

One final word: TL-S were made for SPEEDY RIDES!

Must have been slightly downhill and a nice tailwind to get that MPG

There is another thread just on how crappy the TL-S fuel economy is lol go figure.

I got 38 mpg from TN to MD. Started a thread a month ago with pics of the mid.

Doesn't it feel great to get 30+ mpg.

You have a base model. They notoriously get much better fuel economy. The best I have gotten out of my "S" is 28mpg with avg mph of 75 all highway.

37 psi front, 34 rear on my trip

But of course the psi went up a bit after some highway driving.

Driving 65 on the base model will get you nearly 35 MPG, at least, on all highway, well for me.

I go from chicago to cedar falls iowa at least once a month. I average between 30-32 mpg going about 70 mph. If I speed up to around 85 it will go down to 29 mpg. This has been consistant for the past 2 years.

oh, 58mph...well that makes more sense. i am either driving 35mph stop-and-go, or 85mph freeway. if i cruise it is still around 70mph so i guess no 35+mpg for me

Plus a lot of you guys go off of what the "MID" says and its usually not very accurate. You gotta do the calculations at the pump to get the real average. If you did this I think a lot of you with your super efficient numbers will be surprised that your car really is getting nowhere near what the MID says.

That's not true.. I drove almost 500 miles on one tank of gas from Central Texas to Alexandria Louisiana and I still had more than a 1/4 tank on my return after only filling up going out and coming back.

I kept the RPM the same my entire trip. Cruise control does the same thing but I didn't use it. I think 75 mph is like 2200 rpm in fifth gear for the 5AT.

Calculating my receipt I actually got 38.1 mpg. It is easy to get 32 mpg on a base TL, I feel good if I get 34, and was blown away with 38 (first and probably last time).

Cruised @ about 80mph until I had to stop midway. (Wife made us take a detour off the freeway to stop by the market.)

Then hopped back on the freeway. I think if I didn't stop, I might be looking at higher? (Don't know how realistic/possible that is without tailwind and downhill.) I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the 35, hence the reason I took a picture of my MID.

But I'm on a base model. Less guzzly.

Base TL will get a higher MPG numbers compare to type-s ..... we all know that ... but OP was referring to a type-s, so 32 MPG is something that's outstanding (almost impossible IMO as we all like those extra ponies and that's why we got the type-s in the first place) ....

No pics, but I routinely get 31 MPG in my 2007 type-s on trips from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale and up to Savannah. Typical speed is around 75.

Wow ... nice to know ... but for those of us having a lead-foot, it's too hard not to hear the engine sing ... type-s is made for hwy long-trip cruising ...
