1. Replacement tires (EL-42's) were shipped to dealers last Friday and should be arriving by early next week.

2. Forty (40) memory modules were shipped yesterday and should be arriving at dealers by early next week.

Hmm, interesting that you say 40 modules. The parts guy at my dealership said my parts (ordered by the service department)showed as being on backorder and not due to arrive until JUNE!!! I didn't have to say anything. He immediately mumbled "that's bullshit" and put me on hold. He came back and said he was going to call the regional rep and call me back. He did just that and his voice message stated that 40, yep the same 40, were on order and mine in particular was in as a urgent need. Pretty cool that I didn't have to raise the issue. But, who knows when it will actually arrive and what's up with the common number of 40 anyway?

Maybe the all-knowing allocator of said modules is a Roman Catholic and he's on a Lent binge or something...

My dealer says seat memory control module are now backordered until JULY! If there are 20K cars with the problem, it will take forever if a production of 40 units is the best they can do.

I should feel locky then that I'm getting both my tires and memory module replaced on monday. This is pretty disturbing though that they're seemingly making so few of them at a time. Perhaps they're only repleninshing the supply as people complain about the issue.

Question

Considering my new TL gets delivered a week from today, one would assume it comes with the *FIXED* memory module and tires. Right? Anyone back me up on this?

Just spoke to my service advisor, and he confirmed the JUNE / JULY date. It must have "just" changed, because I was in the queue for a unit in 2 weeks!

Betcha all the FIXED units are being used for new car production and *NOT* taking care of customers that have already paid their $$$$!!!!!

You're probably (and hopefully) right Raven. Not just for my sake. But I'm sure Acura doesn't want to add to the problem by releasing a bunch of new cars that will just need to be FIXED right away.

My TL is currently at the dealer getting the "new" "recompounded" Bridgestone shoes. I apparently am the first one at my dealer to have gotten an ACS replacement of my 4 shoes.

I have a TL loaner with 100 miles on it and it doesn't seem to have the same vibration problems. Dropped it off at 7:30 and temp here was 40 degrees. Maybe my imagination, and I don't frankly know what the VIN or tire code is on the loaner.

I'll post tomorrow any reaction to the new shoes.

Go Wildcats!

Replacement EL-42's (date code 08-04) installed yesterday. Now have bad vibration between 45 and 60 and it continues beyond 60, but not as bad. Drove first thing this morning, no flat spotting evident, but still have vibration as stated above. Drove for over an hour on various road surfaces and manually shifted to 4th and to 3rd at the above speeds, but vibration did not change.

Called service advisor and he said to hold on until first of week. He already has another similar complaint with new tires and he is working with Acura Tech. He stated that they are looking at another problem unrelated to tires. Have no idea what area they are investigating. I have felt all along that there were other possible contributors to the vibration issue other than just the tires, but what do I know.

just got my seat module replaced yesterday - I ordered it about a week ago - the service guy said it was on back order, but then I got a call a couple days later saying they got one, so maybe it wont take as long as they are saying - or maybe I just got really lucky :-)

Smile

I set up my appointment last week and they reserved one of the three "moduls" they had at the dealer - I had it replaced today and was the last person to get it - the rest are back ordered until sometime????

My tires are fine but I have to have my axle replaced because of a hairline fracture - anyone else have grease leaking on their rims??

Novice, I am not sure. The vibration is present under the stated conditions each time we drive the car. Previously, the vibrations were unpredictable and varied in frequency and severity. Personally, I think it could be a bad balance job. Regardless of SA's input from Acura tech, they will be ask to rebalance before trying anything else.
