Well it depends on your local laws and if you want to follow them, but I'd say some nice 20% all around would look good. Normal tints, not like the shiny mirror ones or the weird colors.

Also, I was told to stay away from metallic tints as they mess with radio and nav reception, but I havn't had any issues. The place I went to uses Solar Guard film.

I'd also recomend mole skin of felt inside the door liner. If you go to a good tint place and tell them you want this, they'll know what you're talking about. Alot of high end cars seem to have shitty plastic weather striping in the door that scratches tints. If they know about the felts, then they're probably doing other high end cars which is a good sign.

The top brands in Tint are:

1. Huper Optik (Very Pricey)
2. 3M
3. Llumar

Solar Guard, Madico and the rest come in only after those 3. I use to have Solar Guard on my previous TL and it purpled 6 years later. I now have LLumar which was number 2 before 3M came out with Tint and that's what I would have gone with if it was out when I tinted my car and that is what I recommend for everyone else. Have it on 2 of my newer cars.

Huper Optik is ceramic tint that eliminates a good amount of heat compared to the rest on that list. Google it and you'll see most of the exotic cars and ultra luxury vehicles go for it. A typical tint job with Huper Optik is about $650 so its very expensive.. LoL.

3M IMO is good enough. Just make sure the installer you go to tells you which line of 3M tint he's using, they have different grades, so don't base your decision just on price because though they quote you 3M one might be quoting you a price on lower quality 3M tint. They make those lower quality lines to compete with the other sub par brands that have lower quality. To compete with those guys that tell you they can get your windows tinted for $150 bux.. LoL.

Visit the 3M site and you'll see. I dont remember the different lines off the top of my head.

Sorry for the double post but let me clarify something. I was being sarcastic on that $150 tint job, that would not be a good film to use to tint. A good tint job would be about $300 or a little more. But don't base it on price but base it on the 3M line they use.

Pinnacle Formula 1 Ceramic.

20% if you can or as dark as the law allows (or as you dare).

I have 3M black chrome tint on my TL now, no complaints at all. On my Jeep I have LLumar, and it has been on for years with no chipping or color fading(purple color), but i forgot what type it was.

Also I paid $50 per window for the 3M. And I think $40-45 per window on my jeep, but i forget.

Go with 20% if you have a dark interior and you will not regret it

I have this stuff @ 35%. Perfect for me, not too dark and not too light. Too dark looks a little gangster for my taste (plus illegal), too light is not effective. Theres been plenty of times where it's been the perfect balance of not being able to see that much from far, yet people can still see just enough up close. 35% Ceramic looks like a luxury tint to me. Keep in mind this might be visibly equivalent to a 30-25% metallic film.

Black on Black

Black on Black
Looks Sweeeet!!!!!! Mine already had the windows tinted when I got it. Don't know about percentages but the rear windows are very dark, can barely see anything from outside (don't even know if it's legal, but I don't care . Looks nice, specially at night!!!!)

30% will look darker on a black on black TL than a lighter TL. So if you are worried about the law, 30% will look just as well. I went with 30% on my WDP and it isn't as dark. I could've gone 20% and have the same effect.
