Timed the Acura....
Whats up.
Well, the question about how fast the TL is from 0-60 is pretty much solved for me.
I spent two hours doing 0-60s and here is what I found.
(I use a fully calibrated accelerometer called AP-22, not the typical g-tech.)
My 0-60 times for a 6 speed with a passenger ranged from 6.0 to 6.3. Thats without traction control
With traction control, the best I did was 6.5. So, remember to flick that sucker off when you wanna go for it.
The accelerometer rated my car all the time from numbers ranging from 233hp up to 244 hp, so, that is about 270 at the crankshaft, assuming 12 percent drivetrain losses.
Has anybody else done any timing on their car?

Those are consistent numbers. Give your car about 10,000 miles or so and test it again. (preferably on a not too hot day close to sea level). By then you're engine will be truly broken in

Thanks! I will. I am hoping to get 5.8 or 5.9 with some practice. I think the motor has a lot of potential!
I am getting more used to the TL shifter.
I was used to drive an MX-6 that was in pretty bad.

I am guessing that is with the stock blowtanzas on the car. Switch the rolling stock and I will bet you can shave a few tenths off those times. I am still waiting to test mine till i can find a likely tool to test the car with. I have heard decent things about the pro version of the gtech but don't feel like laying out $250 for something that won't get used much.

I pulled a 5.2 in mine with a Minuki fuel injector running 110 octane gas. The Minuki gives me about a 12% HP increase.
I had two naked chicks in the back seat at the time, so it might be faster without them.
I know this car has great performance, but jeez. When I ordered it I kinda thought it was a refined car for mid 30's professionals who wanted lots of gizmos, comfort, finish, AND performance.
I didn't know that every other owner is an OCD teenage speed racer.

Very funny, indeed.
I just wanted to see how fast it was, thats all.
I drive the TL in 6th gear most of the time, so there is no need to drive it fast all the time. As I said, it was just curiosity.
When I want to go fast and run like a bat out of hell, then I take the Z06 out.
(my mid-life crisis vehicle, if you will ) Although that one is also driven in 6th gear most of the time too.
Anyways, I don't plan on modding my TL beyond the airfilter swap.
I know the turanzas aren't the greatest tires under the sun, but thats what I have. They are just fine to run around town.
