For those with camel / parchment interior....

I recently changed out my floorboard carpet. 2 pieces - 1 for the front and the other for the back. It took longer than expected cause you have to take everything but the dash out - man what a bitch but very pleased with the results.

Seats are still the parchment color but carpet is now the greyish/black.
Wow, huuuge difference. Totally frames out the seating area and no more nasty, dirty light brown carpet. Cabin has a nice 2-tone look to it.

I know, I know - useless without pics but my camera's sd card is all jacked up right now.

Please post pics.

I was planning to do the same, but the shit I got from the junkyard was nothing short of junk. Buy new if you're gonna buy.

I have black floormats, and that looks pretty good as is.

yeah kennedy, i remember you and I thinking along the same pages when the 2-tone scheme came out for the new models. I bid on a few panels on ebay but didn't win - maybe it was you haha! Plus much cheaper but more time consuming to just change out the carpets but when you need to break away from the GF and shorty, I've got nothing but time haha!

I have the black all weather floor mats as well, but the black carpet just takes the cabin to the next level. I really like it.

BTW, the carpets came to about $220 total for new oem carpets.

Fantastic idea Special - must look really hot!!!

I gotta give you guys a lot of credit for all these things you come up with and actually do......I've only started modding - what I've done has been easy so far but you guys rock!

PICS PLEASE.....

In a few years from now when my Quartz carpets get dirty I would definatly consider replacing them with the black.

Is this something you just order from the dealer???

Steve, for all your part number needs, check out www.acuraoemparts.com

It's kind of a PITA to use, but once you get it, you'll get it.

After reading one of the threads on here regarding a WDP with tan interior and black floormats I looked into doing the same.

I just recently purchased a 2006 with Parchment interior and my salesperson was willing to let me switch the tan floormats for the darker floormats. Much to my dismay, they're weren't black by charcoal/ebony and I just wasn't feeling it.

My wife also looked at them in the car and she shot it down as well. I would love to have BLACK floormats with the Acura symbol. I'm thinking about getting some custom floormats. Has anyone heard of someone going that route?

Talk to these guys
http://www.lloydmats.com/index2.htm

I had llyod's mats in my corvette and they are easily the nicest floor mats I have ever seen. Dont know if they do the TL or not though.

I couldn't agree with you more that it sucks and it gets SO ugly after awhile. The entire parchment interior is just too light for my liking... (and yes, I could kick myself in the ass daily for buying the WDP w/ parchment - and just to think I have several more years of it...)...

I am not going to replace the carpet, but when it comes time I'm definitely replacing the floor mats with factory black ones.

yeah, just to clarify for everyone, I removed the entire floor-board carpet and not just the carpeted floor mats. I actually threw all of the tan floor mats and the old floor board carpet away.

The floor board carpet is now the charcoal black/grey and I'm only using the black all weather floor mats that I purchased when I first bought the car. Seating and panels are all still the parchment color.

I need to clean/condition up the seats first, then I'll get some pics up.

When I get back from work later this afternoon, I'll try and get some quick shots up.

I haven't got pix of it in the TL yet but this pix of the all weather mats in the Passat gives you the idea of what the contrast looks like. BTW these mats were bought in 1993.

Meh! You guys have no taste.

It's a regional thing. In Florida, and other warm climes, our carpets stay pretty clean unless you're a farmer. (Not that there's anything wrong with it.)

My camel carpet has never been stepped on. My carpeted floor mats have never been stepped on. I have tan vinyl mats on top of the carpeted floor mats and the interior is light and cool looking.

But we also wear white pants and pastel colors in Florida when we're not even gay (Not that there's anything wrong with it.)

I'm in california......and I'm not a farmer - unless you count me managing people's assets to watch them grow and help harvest. Pics coming up in a few.

Looks great.

I just put in the black all-weather mats the other day on my parchment. I like the contrast.

And, unlike Xpditor we still have dirt in North Florida. I am happy to do what it takes to keep the ride clean! (And I DON'T wear white pants, either!)

The only real problem I've had is dragging my foot across the nice rubbery sill that's inside the door. I am starting to keep some wipes in the ride so I don't have to drag the cleaner out of the garage every time I need to clean it off!

Get a small spray bottle like the perfume sample size ( 1 to 2 oz ) and fill it with a mix of Woolite and water and keep it and a M/F towel in the door pocket.... works great for that ,..

More info on the Woolite and water on my web page ..

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll get some daytime pics up so you can see the parchment and black carpet in it's natural beauty. The flash in these pics definitely lightened things up.

Very nice. If I didnt know better, I would think the car came that way. I wish it did as I love the camel seats, but have the camel mats and carpets. Shows dirt way too easy.

Think you can take a pic with the rubber mats out? I want to know what it would look like with the carpeted mats in.

Hey guys, thanks! Yeah, I love the lighter colored seats and panels but that light brown carpet definitely had to go. The driver's side was nasty and the exhaust hump that runs down the middle, that little patch of carpet in the rear passenger area get's dirty way too easily it seems. Also, since it isn't covered by any floor mat, it just makes the dirt that much more noticeable.

Definitely worth it but just time consuming to install. I think the upgraded pedals will put the finishing touch on the cabin. After this, will probably get new leather for the driver's side seat because the wear and tear has really taken it's toll.

I'll post some daytime pics without the all weather floor mats in (BUT I threw the original carpeted ones away) and will put back the little brown plastic covers for the seat mounting bolts in the rear for you guys to see.
