Third brake light mod?

Hey guys, anyone know how to properly install the gs-100a strobe controller for the third brake light? Myself and friend of mine tried installing it, but blew a fuse while in the process. Luckily, I had a spare. Are there any tips or tricks on how to install it? We followed several youtube videos, but no luck. Any help is appreciated.

Pull fuse or disconnect negative on battery first... Hook it, in line... You may need am external ground... i.e., run a ground from that moduel to a bolt nearby... IDK, it's been a while for me...

Don't add a ground to this. The module just goes in series with the brake light.

I don't like the amount of wire or room you have to work with at the third brake light, so I picked up another light and cannibalized the connectors to make a reversible install.

I'm guessing you've already cut the connectors off. Splice the wires connected to the car (that is, the wires coming out of the headliner) to the input and splice the wires connected to the light to the output. Black to black, red to whatever is left over (should be white/black stripe on the car, green/white stripe on the light).

They look better on the actual tail lights. I have a set and everyone's always asking where I got them installed lol.

Thanks for the help guys, we were able to figure it out. Re-did the wiring and used heat shrink tubing to seal everything up. Video attached, ignore my voice lol.

Yeah I might do that either before I store it for the winter or next spring, but for now, the third brake light will do.

Hey guys, was there any resolution here? I had this working for the 3rd brake light and now all of my brake lights are dim. Want to check the fuse as well.
