Think your wait for delivery is long?
Even though the Prius isn't my cup of tea I believe they certainly hit a home run in that segment. I hope the technology catches on too because given the time I hang on to cars (around 10 years) maybe they'll have performance hybrids by then. Imagine a TL that also gets phenomonal gas mileage.
prius??? people are really lining up for that? no thanks..it must be all those tree huggers out there. i like the idea of a hybrid as long as it meets my performance requirements. but aside from being sluggish, i think its down right ugly.
I'm curious to test drive it, but I doubt I'd want to buy one... not after being used to the TL's 270hp.
But it's a good idea, and it will hopefully inspire a new generation of much more efficient cars. I heard awhile back (I believe on this forum) that Honda was planning a 240hp hybrid V6 Accord for this fall, that will get over 30mpg. Anybody else hear any news about this?

I will be waiting at least 8 months for the hybrid Toyota Highlander that comes out in Jan. 45 MPG and 270 HP out of a 7 passenger AWD SUV...now were talking! I will be glad to say goodbye to my '95 Rodeo for one of those
Toyota is in the lead on this technology. They are coming out with a hybrid Highlander next year that get 30+ MPG and is .2 sec faster then the current gas model. Pretty impressive if you ask me.
They are going to put the technology into the Lexus RS 330 and serveral other cars. In the mean time GM and Ford are still putting out piece of crap Exploders that get 16 mpg and fall apart. Way to go Detroit.

Update on the Accord Hybrid - found a bit more info:

Doesn't exactly say what the MPG will be (other than "the same as a 4-cylinder car"), but it's going to use Variable Cylinder Management, so the car will only use 3 of the 6 cylinders when cruising. Also, Honda's working on a hydrogen fuel cell, which is supposed to be in a production car next year. All good signs!
