taking out the rear seat of the TL

I picked up some comptech springs at the dealership today because i wanted to put in on myself. I already have the front ones on, but i had the hardest time finding where the strut was for the back so i could take it out. I figured out that it was behind the seat. Does anyone know how to take out the rear seats? I hear that there are clips and bolts, and i took out all the bolts but it is still attached. Acura quoted me $190 just to put the rear on, so i figured everything would cost $400

Not sure about this car but on previous models once the bench is removed there are 4 lower bolts. 1 on each end 2 in the center. Once those are gone just push the seat back up (toward the roof) Hope this helps

There are 2 tabs in front of the bottom seat cushion. Feel for them and then pull on them and that will release the front part. Facing the rear cushion reach down between back and bottom cushion on the left side near the seat belt and you will see a 10mm bolt. With a 10m socket and an extension remove this bolt. Tip...put a piece of tape on the extension to snug the socket so it doesn't fall off. When you remove the bottom cushion, remove the remaining 3 bottom bolts. Now the fun part. Directly below where the headrests would be is a pleat in the leather upholstery. Stick your finger in there and you'll discover a channel in the foam for that same 10mm socket. Loosen it a couple of turns and then just lift the rear cushion. The cushion "hooks" on these 2 bolts. One on each side.

Everyone sure the seat has to come out??? I took it to a place for an estimate and they said they should be able to install springs w/o removing the seat....even if they did total install price of $150....$199 at the dealership (install only)

THE SEAT HAS TO COME OUT.
I watched while they installed my Eibach springs.
There are two hidden bolts that have to be loosened.
You have to stick your finger inside the stitching under the headrest. do not remove them, just loosen them.

Not to be a total Gomer -- but what effect are you trying to achieve by replacing the springs?

I think it is a perfect drop to because it doesn't go too low. For the price of the car i think no one wants their bumpers draggin on the floor and having to go sideways over bumps like those little civics. It actually feels alot better with the springs.
