Taillight switchbacks?
Taillight switchbacks?
So i ordered switchbacks for my headlights. Trying to go in an all white light direction. So i was just wondering if they make switchbacks for tail lights? I searched but couldnt find anything, but maybe i was just looking in the wrong places or searching wrong. If anyone knows let me know.
not sure on this but i think the only colors allowed in a tail light would be red and orange/amber. white is obviously only for reverse. dont think i have seen a switch back for red anywhere though, usually always white and amber.
White is only for reverse on the back of the car. And also, your rear turn signal bulbs only light up when the turn signal is on, otherwise the bulb is completely unlit, so having switchbacks would be useless.
Lol....depends on state whether or not u can have white.....in north carolina u can have red, amber or white.....run them for years with no problems...switchbacks for rears would cause u problems if it looked like red and white flashing...
Nothing is impossible. You could do a new unseen mod. It would take some work though. It would also assume you have cleared tails or at least the signal portion.
You could wire it to get it to glow with the rest of the tail light in parking light mode and flash amber for signals. And yea it wold be totally legal.
Two ways of doing that is by either drilling a new opening into the housing to allow a red parking light bulb/LED. Then wiring in a relay to have it switch power between the bulbs during signaling. OR you could replace the turn signal socket to the type similar to the ones that fit the front signals that have parking light/signals in them. But the only issue would be to get switchbacks that flash red/amber. They don't exist but hey it's not impossible to mod a switchback and replace the whites with amber.
Of course you would also want to do switchbacks on the fronts and both sidemarkers too.
