Hey guys.
Recently while driving local, I hear some "clinging" sounds on the rear of my car. At first i though it was the rear wheels, then my friend was in the car with says its the muffler/ tail pipe. It makes that sound everytime i go thru a pothole or unlevel surface. Is there a problem with my TL 2008?

 

You may want to get a good look under the car. Look for anything loose or not hanging properly. Grab the muffler, when it's cold, and shake it to see if it's loose.

2008 ...find where the sound come from and go visit your dealer!!!

 

could be rubber hanger popped off

if it is a base doubt its the tips... if it is a type s, then it is definitely the tips

 

i went to the dealer, they test drive it and said there were no sound.

 

^ sounds like usual dealer jargon... the noise is probably on cold starts see if you can have a digitial camera on the rear end when you go to start the car

 

I had some weird noise from the tailpipe area once. I really could hear it when I shut the doors. Turns out I had been traveling on a road that they had just paved with gravel and some of the little gravel pieces had gotten stuck between the exhaust tips and the plastic and it would bang up against that every now and then.

i've move the muffler a lil bit and it seems kinda loose or atleast its moving.
