All I got to say is Doh!

If it's sunny out now, leave your windows cracked and maybe the sunroof open again to help it dry out.

I used to have a convertable that leaked like crazy. On the sunny days that would follow rain days I would just leave the top down all day and let it bake. As long as I did that the mildew smell would not be a problem. Now if you let it stay moist for several days you will have a very stinky Acura.

When my convertable leaks I take a little space heater and put it on the carpet. I wipe all of the water off of the leather and then give it a good clean/condition. Its not really going to mess anything up unless enough water got it to start screwing with the electronics.

About two-weeks into owning my car, while driving, my b/f left one of the rear windows open by a crack. Got up the next morning and he says, "You're going to kill me..." and he told me what he had done (tried to open the drivers window and accidentally putting down the rear window instead). I was very pissed, to say the least because I know how particular he is with his own cars.

Anyway - that night it rained hard - and of course, rained sideways directly into my opened window. The rear floor mat was soaked and the seat was wet (thankfully, no puddles!). He absorbed as much as he could with towels, but we had to remove the floor mat for a while and then I left my windows down during the day (which was warm and sunny) so I didn't get that "musky" smell from it being wet. It dried and has been fine.

Thankfully - I don't see any noticable damage to the car. That was four months ago and a person wouldn't be able to tell otherwise.

I did that with my Accord a few years ago, try and get as much out with a towel, and leave the windows cracked.

You didn't get any of the electronics wet? the seat warmer switches, the shifter, the radio?

I would worry more about that than the the seats. if not... you're lucky.

Get a dehumidifier and run it all night, it will get the interior super dry.

Must have been a short/light period of rain.

You definitely got lucky, but we all know about Lady Luck. Next time she won't be so nice.

1/2 an inch of rain in the cupholder but the carpet didn't get wet? Something doesn't quite compute...

Right after I bought this car, and reading this site, I found the thread about using your key fob to open up all the windows. Well, one night, coming back from my break, thinking I was pretty cool , I tried it. I did it about 2 or 3 times and then I then rolled up my windows and went back to work.

I left work around 7:30AM and noticed that it rained pretty hard that night. I opened up my car door and saw the inside. I thought someone did this for a joke and I was gonna get pissed off.... my seats were soaked!!! The cupholders had about an inch of water in them, the floormats were sopping wet.... I couldn't believe it. I took off my sweatshirt to sit on it and was pretty pissed off at the person who did it, and then I looked up... shit, I left the sunroof open

I rushed home and brought some towels down and tried to soak up all the water as best as I could. It took about 3 days to dry, I left my windows cracked to air it out and I took towels to the seats every chance that I had. I thought I ruined the heater but it still keeps my booty nice and toasty!!!

I also thought that I would shock myself... having all the water in the seats and using the heater. I decided not to turn the heater on until I knew that the seats were dry!!!

Now that I know about the key fob, when I show off my car, I remember to close the sunroof.
