Strange noise & kick on Startup
I have a 2005 Acura TL, and recently I have started noticing a wierd noise and a small kickback on the Accelerator, it happens after a cold start within the first minute or so. Anyone experienced that? Start your car with radio off etc so you can hear it, reverse the car then accelerate forward slowly, it should happen within a minute or two. Is this a transmission problem or gear box problem?

Try leaving the VSA off and see if it still happens. Does it still happen if VSA is turned on after you have reached the self check point. does VSA also control the rear breaks, or is there a seperate ESP?

This is one of discussions we have had since Day 1... Hope this would be helpful.

Kickback
The pump motor operates when the ABS or VSA is functioning, and the fluid in the reservoir is forced out to the master cylinder, causing kickback at the brake pedal.

Pump Motor
- The pump motor operates when the ABS or VSA is functioning.
- The VSA control unit checks the pump motor operating during initial diagnosis when the vehicle is driven over 10 mph (15 km/h) the first time after the ignition switch is turned ON (II). You may hear the motor operate at this time, but it is normal.
