Strange Find in console....some type of sensor?

I was looking around in the deep part of the console in my TL-S. There is a white disc about the size of a 12v outlet. I pryed it out and its seems to me some type of sensor attached to a couple of wires.....any thoughts what this might be?

The light only comes on when the headlights are on.

Why would you do this unless you knew what it was. It could have been the Self Destruct sensor

I sense that sensor may no longer sense

Curiosity is a wonderful thing; this is how I learned what's in the engine bay and all around, my Maxima 97 was my guinea pig back in the day

PS The word pried open gives me goosebumps...as my dad always says you don't need force, just your head.

I miss my Maxima. I had a forest green '97 GXE. Excellent car back in the day. never could afford modding it though but that generation maxima looked the best imho. the latest gen is growing on me. I might go and drive one and see how I like the CVT.

Stay focused

Stay on topic, folks. See the thread title.

There's plenty of threads over in Car Talk if you want to talk about Maximas.

Thanks.

Could be hard to find out. About 80% of the time, I open my console: no light. But then, every now and then, just to F with me, I'll open the console and BAM, there's a light.

My refrigerator on the other hand, every time I open the door: light.

As I mentioned above: the light only comes on when the parking lights or headlights are on.

It might become an AZ classic. But, I think we scared the OP away?
