A type s badge on a base TL is not nearly as offensive as what my neighbor did to his BMW's... He has a 01 740IL with and M7 badge (he obviously made up himself) and a 95 325i convertible with an M3 logo and M POWER across the top of the windshield. To top it off, both are complete with those chrome fake fender vents. I laugh to myself every time I look in his driveway.
Not joking. The autotrader listing is no longer online, but take a look at this thread:

You'll see that someone (a member here) had a Type-S and swapped out the Type-S parts with parts from a base TL.

I love the looks of all 3g TLs. I think the TLS is a great looking car. I prefer the base '04 to'06 due to the less busy looks in certain colors but that's splitting hairs. I can see the later years looking more modern as the years pass. Just saw the rare 6mt making a turn in front of me, I wonder if its just me or if the Brembos stand out to everyone.

I like making subtle changes to my car without going overboard.
One of the first things I look for are the Brembo's
Uggghh.

As long as we're on "ricer" call outs here's one I though was pretty funny.

Here's a TL "S"
Not very clear, but you can tell he has a type-s badge, and also read his description.

I have the miss badged car story that takes the cake. For the last three days i have seen the same 04-06 Black TL with the type r emblem on the front mesh grill with a toyota emblem in the center. on the rear they removed the acura emblem and left the holes but to the right of it they put another toyota emblem. Also they have all the chrome door gaurds in the state. the wheel wells, door trunk hood and sun roof are outlined with them. the windows are tinted two tone silver to blue top to bottom. The windshield has a mexico flag banner that says Mexican Jose on it. the license plate frames are flamed and the hood has two of the Pep Boys hood scoops on it. I really hope this car is park outside work tomorrow so i can get a picture of it. it has been there now for three days.

Well I know I will get blasted for this but I don't understand why so many people are putting staggered wheels on a front wheel driver car like the TL. Believe me, I love the look but not on a front wheel drive car. I guess I'm just still stuck in the 80's! LOL
