Sportshift from 2nd gear.

I love finding new things. I just found out the other night by accident. I never knew you can pull away in second gear when using sportshift. I cound not do this in my 03. It helps a bit in the snow.

Some people say it's in the Owner's Manual also.

In the '03 you had to gate shift it into 2nd gear .

The TL-S, unlike the 04, has 1-2-3-D-D5- and sportshift. Also the TL-S doesnt automatically shift out of first gear in L mode (unlike the 04 which does). This allowed you to really hold first gear out and shift through the gears as an alternative to the SS mode. Most people found they got better numbers at the track using this method over SS.

However, Acura changed this in the 04 as another preventative measure to avoid tranny abuse.

^^ Really?? It always shifted to 2nd automatically when I switched to SS mode.. Everytime the RPM hits 2k, it just shifts to 2nd gear......maybe I need to floor it...

In SS, both the TL-S and 04 automatically shift out of 1st. Im talking about the "L" mode.

I have found that in Bay Area bumper to bumper traffic, if I use SS and force the car to stay in 2nd gear I have less of that lurching feeling when the gears change from 1st to 2nd back to 1st.
