Splash/Mud Guards with Body Kit
I know that if you install the A-Spec side skirts and/or rear skirt, you will not be able to keep the splash guards. I think the same goes with Ron Jon body kit.
I've checked out the installation instructions on both and it looks like the reason is that the parts "share" the same mount points in the inner fenders. They also attach with the same self tapping screws. For the rear section, it looks like the splash guard and rear skirt use different mounting brackets.
Now the question: With all the modders on this forum, has anyone attempted to install a body kit AND also keep the splash guards? Any success stories or failures?
And yes, I am aware that some people will cringe at the idea of a body kit with splash guards, but curious minds want to know.

I also am curious about this. I have the splash guards on my ride and I just assumed that when I throw on the A-Spec that I would lose them. But if I can keep them then great...

I just finished installing my side skirt and rear a-spec bumper this past weekend. When I attempt to place the original mud guard on the new a-spec side skirt, they obviously won't fit, because the new side skirt is much wider.
I don't know how much dirt now I would get without the mud guard since I have only driven it with A-spec body kit for one day in Sunny SD, got to wait until next rain to found out which is never...

Hi waacow,
Can you elaborate on the new side skirt being wider? Which part of the new side skirt would interfere with mounting the splash guards?
Did you happen to try to mount the rear splash guards after the new rear skirts were installed? Notice any problems there?
There is rain in the forecast for this Wed. Keep us updated.

hey lembowski, I beat you to it.
I invited waacow to the meet at Fusion tonight. Hopefully he can make it so we can check out his A-Spec kit.

Thanks to waacow, I found that the A-Spec side skirts protrudes out more than the stock side skirts. Therefore, in a addition to sharing the mount points, the splash guards will need to be shaved in the inner edges to fit properly.
If someone can accomplish this, I would consider this a mod!
I was too busy chatting and checking out cars to take a look at the rear set.

datmrman: why are you so curious of having mud guard?
it is SD.. we are not suppose to get rain or mud... just sunny day all year around. .. anyways, I was busy chatting too.

I'm not just concerned with rain or mud. There is also dirt and rocks that the guards deflect. You are right though, it is not that bad in so cal... but it would still be nice to have.
Thanks again for bringing it out!
