Question Splash guards on or off?

I picked up my TL about two weeks ago and went back last week for the protection package items that were out of stock when I picked up the car. The installed the wheel locks and the trunk tray. I requested them NOT to install the splash guards and just put them in the trunk.

I'm not convinced that I want the splash guards on because they might ruin the lines of the car. I love the way the car looks now and I don't know if the splash guards will look good or not.

What do you guys think?

I had them put on my SSM TL, they look great and they keep mud & tar off the lower rear quarter panels & doors. Check at your dealer's lot and see if they have a car that has them on already.

Even with my WDP they are not very noticeable. They are easy to put on if you want to do it yourself. No holes to drill and just a few plastic clips or screws. Make sure to wax good underneath where they will go.

You could always put front and back on one side of the car to see how you like it.

For installation instructions, go here http://www.handa-accessories.com/tl.html

Should we make this a poll?

I have a SSM TL and had my neighborhood body shop pain them and they look very nice and blend well into the lines of the car.

The dealer had installed them when I bought the car. I had them removed before I bought the car as they make the car look like a civic. I clean my car often and it's no problem, but if you don't then you should put them on.

I have a NBP so the guards are hardly seen at all. They seem to do a real good job at keeping off the splashes, etc. You will be happy with them.

I didn't have them on mine and put them on. They keep the sides much cleaner and don't look that bad. I have WDP also.

I do not like them. IMO, I think they detract from the lines of the car. I do remember specifically commenting on this when I was looking for cars because every car on the lot had them. They do serve a useful function, and may look better on some colors than others.

I have them. They look fine and have kept a ton of junk from flying into the paint.

If you go for the underbody kit the splash guards will not work... The clear 3m material works great and keeps the body line.

Personally, I really like the way the mud guards look. Probably wouldn't like it if I had gotten RR or DM but I think it goes well with SSM (which is what I have) as well as NBP and Anthracite.

You can check pics of my SSM with mud guards here:

Also, I've had plenty of opportunity here in AA to see if they work. They work very well and keeping dirt off.

If you have a kit, they won't fit. I don't think they look that great.
