sorry guys - need YOUR advice

this is the same old song and dance.

I've owned several acuras and now I am planning on buying a 2007 tl type s

this car appears to be perfect (high miles 60K) for around 22K.

anything I need to be aware of? is the price right? I talked the guy down from 25 to 22 -

i owned a 2003 type s which the X got and that was a great car, but he transmission was a chronic problem in those cars also the drain plug was also an issue since they would strip easily.

just want to know what I am up against. The car looks hot tho

I would say that 22K is still to high. And what color is it?

I also agree it's too expensive. Dealers in my area sell them for 25k with 1/2 the mileage. Some are CPO for that price too.
As far as issues, well the auto tranny seems ok now, the 6spd ones still have the 3rd gear issue but it's not as bad as it was. Some or many or all have a pinging issue but that's true for the base model too, see the mega thread in problem fixes.
Some also have complained about a drive train vibration but that's both base and S models

I've had mine since new, no problems other than 3 windshield replacements and the pinging on hot days with mild throttle. I have about 19k miles on it so I don't drive that much...
I'm very happy with my purchase, I'd definitly do it again.

$22k, with that mileage, is at the top of the price range from a private individual, so I'd be certain everything is in perfect condition, tires (brand, cheepos?), uneven tread wear, Brembo front brakes that seem to need replacement quickly, rotors etc.
Drivetrain warranty would still be in effect until 70k miles providing the warranty wasn't voided for some reason.
If you're mechanically inclined, go over the car closely, if not, pay to have the car inspected by Acura. Check with Acura for any mainetenance records and if the recall was performed and also check CarFax.

Good luck

black on black. I should have mentioned that this is from a dealer not a private party (if that makes any difference).

That's the kicker - I've been told cars go for more up here than in the south or central states

Having service records would be important too for a car with 60,000 miles. I would want to know the car was serviced regularly.

What state are you from ? Price varies. TL prices in the NY/NJ area have gone UP because of tight supply of 3 year old off lease TL's

Check tires and brakes. The OE Brembo pads aren't very durable, most get around 25k miles on a set, and they cost $160 for just the front pads wholesale.

$22k still sounds high, with the miles the car is out of warranty and only has 10k of powertrain warranty left. I'd make sure the trans has been serviced as well. I would say $20k is about the tops I would go for that car, the mileage is just to high for that price, IMO.
