So Long, It's Been A Lot Of Fun

All -

So Long, It's Been A Lot of Fun. I traded in my 2004 Acura TL for a 2010 Pilot (Loaded). I've finally gotten to the point where I wanted to avoid major transmissions issues (on the horizon) as well as think of the family. Besides, regarding Electronics, it's got all of the TL's bells and whistles and more!

Congrats on the new ride! No need to leave the site entirely. The Off Topic section of the forum has tons of members that no longer drive hondas/acuras. Take care. BTW, I edited your first post, if you want to sell something, post an ad in the Black Market. Thanks.

A friend of mine had done the same thing and really loves his Pilot. The turning radius on that thing is so much better than on our TL! Enjoy the ride.

I've got both but had the Pilot two years before the TL.

For the family, you can't beat it. Maybe when they're grown you'll be back.

Same here. The Pilot is a great vehicle and compliments a TL very well. Our 2005 Pilot uses many of the same parts as my TL which makes things easier: oil filter, ATF, even the 3rd/4th gear pressure sensors. Anyway, you'll like the Pilot too- just differently in a more utilitarian/people hauling/towing way.

Good luck!

I know how you feel. I went from an 08 TL-S to a 06 Honda CR-V. But hey, had to do it for the family. Have fun in your Pilot.

Yeah, I was VERY surprised on turning radius. The Pilot handles extremely well too! The 2010 Touring AWD w/Navi & Res has EVERYTHING AND MORE technology wise than the TL plus I added my subwoofer back into the pilot (now I have real boom).

And yes, it was for the family and I started to have Tranny issues or I would have never done what I did!

What some of these jack asses on here don't understand is that it's just a car. It gets you from a to b, it does not define who you are. I do not think it is a downgrade at all. It probably rides a lot nicer too. Enjoy your comfort!

I agree by it "not defining who you are" and that is "not a downgrade" as it has better technology and sure, it is not a fast, low riding, hug the corner car, but on the flip side you can haul a ton of people, go off road and all the water problems with CAI you would have with the TL - well you can go through about two feet of water. I'd love to own both - that was the plan, but the TL crapped out earlier than my 10 year old Mazda mini van! How's that for quality! (err, not liking Mazda, but the Acura tranny sucked!)

Don't worry, I already have some plans for modification. Electronics that is. Planing to but FLIR camera w/mount in front and rear of car (I have a friend who works for Audi in Germany) as well as also be able to redirect rear DVD to front Navi screen.

As much as I prefer the look of the MDX, the Pilot has more places, compartments, etc. to stash things. And with the Pilot, you're not forced into buying 4WD, which is only really necessary in adverse weather conditions and burns MORE gas.
