What would be easier and more cost efficient, Buying a roll of tint, and just laying it on, or getting it professionally done, and how much do you estimate it would cost for a professional to do it?

Do Professionals lay down tint or vinyl as well? or do they paint the inside of the light cover?

i got my tails smoked with tint for 80.00+tax. on an 08 TL-S NBP @ accutint in bellevue, WA. hella cheap, jus pay them to do it cause the place i went to warranties it for lifetime. not sure where u live at but theres probably a similar shop near you. it would be hella easy to tint it yourself though if u got skills.

Yea man I'm sure they can do it for you there. Like the other guy said, I don't know where you live, so make sure its not illegal to tint your tails, but if you are going to say the hell with the law, then do it! I got my 04 WDP tinted up an I asked the shop if they could do it, and they said that they could, but it would be illegal. So I said the hell with it then, but I ordered smoked tail lights and they are on the way

What color is your TL?

I ordered em from this guy on eBay:

http://myworld.ebay.com/smoked_lights/

He got me a set of OEM 04 Tail Lights and he smoked em for me for $179.99 including shipping. He has a 04 WDP TL with the A-Spec kit too. He's here on AZ, but I can't remember what his user name is. He said he pretty much never got on here anyways. I got the last set he had, but I am sure if you messaged him on eBay, that he could get his hands on a set. His are really really really dark though, and I didn't want them that dark, so I asked him to do them a little lighter, and he said that he did so. I'll post pics whenever I get em in the mail.

I did it in my garage .. use lots of soapy water .. don't be scared of using too much and work from trunk to fender.

^yup that's him haha. Here are some pics of the taillights he did for me....

Well here is a stock pic first...

And now the smoked tails!...

They really aren't that dark. Well let me rephrase...they aren't pitch black, but they aren't close to being stock. I have yet to be pulled over (knock on wood) for them. I am really surprised because of the amount of asshole cops that are around here.

I know I need a drop...but I can't afford it as of now. Eventually though

Haha well kinda. There is a big car park here in downtown which is specifically for the community center and shit like that, but the police station is right there also, so they park cars they don't use anymore there. I took those pics about 2 months ago, and I was just up there minding my own business, snapping a few pics, and 3 cop cars roar up to the top and say they are going to arrest me for trespassing and all this bullshit blah blah. I told them that there were no "no trespassing" signs anywhere and I didn't think it was that big of a deal, I'm just taking pictures. And they insisted that I trespassed and that I would have to write a letter to some lady asking permission to take pics of my car at the top level because thats where they keep the cop cars and they want to know who is around the cars and shit. I said the hell with it.

I got into a minor accident my junior year of high school, and that was probably the nicest cop I have ever met, but besides him, most of the cops around here are assholes. My girlfriend got pulled for running a red light a few weeks back. It was green right before we got to the light, and once we hit the white line, it turned yellow, and he said we ran it. He followed us for another 4 lights and then pulled us over at the biggest intersection in town. Ass.

But to answer your question and not ramble on anymore....yes haha
