Yeah! It's difficult to make a quick start to pull from a side street onto a busy road with a quick punch of the gas pedal. The wheels spin nearly everytime, which of course delays your entry to the road. I've got to baby the gas until the car gets moving a bit.

Having better treads could be helpful...

A skid? Are you talking about wheelspin, torque steer, or what? A skid is usually defined as anytime one wheel is spinning faster than another - a turn is a skid, just a controlled one. At least that is what i was taught at Skip Barber's school.

Everyone's TL does that. Congratulations on your purchase of a performance luxury sedan. Be safe.

Better tires might help, too.

i think it may be a wheelspin...not to sure...it happens when i accelerate too fast off a red...the VSA (!) light on the dash goes on...and my tires are spinning...but im not going anywhere...and its making that skidding noise with the ground...the tires i have are the stock all-season tires that came with the car...

The stock all-season tires SUCK!!!! Either lay off the gas a bit when starting, or buy a better set of performance tires. If you keep spinning the tires starting out, they'll wear out pretty quick anyway so you'll be buying tires soon...just get a good set and you should be just fine. I have the Factory HP Summer tires, and although better than the AS tires, they're not that great either. I can't wait until they wear out and I can get some really good tires for my car.

I changed out the Bridgestone's after 5000 miles (still plenty of tread left) and changed to Michelin Pilot Sport All Season. Much improved and still an all season tire. I'll keep the Bridgestones(now in the garage) and can put them back on if I need to(if the current tires are worn out) when it is time to sell the car in a few years.

I would recommend the Michelin's to anyone driving this car. I really like the tire.
