lol i dont think you should be asking us that question.. don't risk it if its a ghetto area or you feel your TL isnt safe...

don't drive your car to school just because there are other nice whips there and you wana show off.. a few hit and runs? so what a lot of stupid kids there? dont do it..

Why not? Back in the day when I was in high school I parked my car in butt f*** Eygpt and walked my fatass across the parking lot. I dunno, getting home earlier instead of waiting for the bus especially after football practice sucked.

Hit and runs? Punk-Ass teenagers get a f***in job haha JK

lol, what school do you go to? (i'm guessing college...? or high school?)

It depends on the weather too.
My school has intense snowstorms so I got a covered parking spot and many people have very luxurious cars.. so people know how to take care of their cars. I seem to be having no problem. Just make sure you have a place to park.

It's just intuition, you know the right answer.

Actually, being young means you're inexperienced. Sure, there are better drivers than others .. but I guess every 17 year old has the illusion that they're the best damn thing since sliced bread .

I was there once too.

When driving an automobile, there are so many things that can wrong it can make somebody's cranium explode. On top of everything that can go wrong, there are millions of other variables.

I'm not hating or anything, I'm just saying you have a lot to see and experience before you can say you are a good driver hehe.

By the way, I love what you've done with your turning signals. What bulbs did you use?

Can you believe we are all taking time to read & answer this stupid thread?? SHEEESH.
I had a 1985 Olds Cutlass to drive to school (all I could afford back in the day), now I drive a 2008 Acura TL Type S (now that I can afford a nicer car).
Would I let my 17 year old kid drive it to school?? NOT A CHANCE.
Only cause I know what I would do with it..............drive it like ya stole it!!

If you want to do WELL I would start by learning proper English/grammar.

How else are you going to get to school? Bus? Driven by your mommy? Drive yourself in a rusty topaz?

All you 17 year olds think you're good drivers, truth is you're not. Nothing against you but you don't have the experience to be a good driver yet.

I forgot to add, you should drive the car to school.....$hit is going to happen at school or any where you take your car....unless you lock it up in garage and never take it out it'll never be 100% safe

i was debating for awhile if i should take mine to school or not after i got a hit and run on

my bumper and minor scratches on side. Scratches i was able to remove using a compound

but my bumper has a paint chip so it wont do.

ppl say high school drivers are $hittist drivers around but University students arnt any

better haha they just don't respect other peoples properties and they're jealous about

your car (specially in high school) so thats +alpha.

I switch around with mine. I have a morning class on MWF so i get there early and get the

bigger side curve spot and other days i take my moms car (Hyundai Sonata) so i don't worry

about getting dinged. It's really up2u. Will you sacrifce the joy of driving ur sexy car

because your afraid that someone might ding it? hmm.

I said drive it only if you have a large parking lot in school, and you can find a sweet spot where no one will be able to scratch your dad's car... otherwise, save up and buy a beater car, and drive that school.

Believe me, you will have the time to show off the car, school is for learning, not showing off.

DONT DO IT!!!! The first day i bought my fresh nbp to school i came back to find a bigggg surprise when leaving to go get lunch. MY car got keyed the ENTIRE length of the passenger side all the way from the tails to the headlights.. But not a problem because the kid was caught on camera, but when i first saw it i wanted to kill somebodyy!! But to end the story off this jealous bastard drove a G35 Coupe..and he was jealous of my TLL baby..TL Rules lol!! But honestly it wa sthe first day i brought it to school and only my firends knew i ha dthe car, so it wasnt like a kid did it that i had problems with or anything, it was just a jealous scumbag, so just be cautious with your decision, and not to add more fuel to the fire, but my car has gotten hit in the parking lot 3 or 4 times just by kids pulling in or out of spaces next to me and you never know who did it. Just be samrt and try to pick a "good" parking spot!

I wouldn't take my car to skool if I had a nice car like that. Like what other people said, a lot of people get jealous and will probably do something to it.

If you or your parents have a beater, I would drive that and save the TL for the weekends.

I use to think like you when I was in high school. I thought I was good a driver, but after looking back now, I was a decent driver.

YOU'RE right about one thing. He is right and YOU'RE wrong. Dude you're seventeen, you think that you are invincible. When you say that driving is simple you are right. Giving the right amount of gas and brake while steering is simple - but it's how you handle those situations where you have no control that make you a great driver. And that only comes with experience. You will someday realize that is true...give it 5 years.

It's not so much that you're wrong or that us "older" guys get annoyed at you over anything, it's just your attitude. As others have said, you're just inexperienced at 17, or 19, or 21 even. All you can do at your age is just try to be as safe as possible and learn from the mistakes you're going to make. Don't try to act like you know everything and have nothing to learn. Use this board and the more experienced (ok, older) drivers to get as much information as you can. We're just trying to give you a little friendly advice bud. All of us remember what it was like being your age.

As for driving to school, go ahead man. Scratches and dings are just part of owning a car. You might as well get used to that now. Just use good judgment and stay safe. Enjoy the car!
