hey i am 17, and i bought the TL with my own doh. just because we're young doesnt mean we can't drive, or can't afford our own car. Although, high school kids do drive pretty shitty. haha =) but not EVERY kid does.

Assuming you live in a nice area...TAKE IT...my high school had some pretty nice cars...porsches, bmws, benzs, acuras, a maserati on ocassion, you name it...it was there (other then your exotics of course)...so even driving an mb SL wasn't much of a big deal....it's all relative to the area etc. if you ask me

Everyone who is 17 thinks they're the best driver. No, you're not. Come back to me in 5 years and tell me how good you were when you were 17.

And, to answer your question, enjoy the car man. If I was 17 and had a car like that, I'd sure as hell drive it. No use babying it, enjoy it.

I am the best example on acurazine of why you shouldn't drive a nice car to high school. My car got keyed at a homecoming game, it was parked at a different high school, however i remained a target. My car got egged in front of my house and they egged my dad's car the next night. I live in an area where my car is rare for teenagers.. the only car that can really be consider in my league is a 350z.. i still take my TL to school however I have zero period so i park closest to the gate and in visible view of security guards.

One of these days I'm actually going to take a damn picture of where I park... I park at the end of the row, a 2002 WDP TL-S in front of me, and a 2003 AM TL-S to my side. Occasionally we'll have another two or three TL's parked with us. It's quite a site, though mine looks the best because it's lowered.

Tough guy? You’re calling him a tough guy? He is just speaking the truth. You are an arrogant sob and you don’t even know it. It’s that kind of behavior in real life that gets people pissed at you and then they key your nice car. Do what you want but if something happens I am sure you will have had it coming. In your case they will key the car because of your attitude and not because you’re young with a nice car. You asked for opinions and then you get pissed when people don’t respond how you want them to. You need to grow up.
do it, i drive my shit to school every day, and it gets treated with respect around here, if you dont have enemies, your straight man, just look out for them fuckin chicks drivin, if they hit you, demand they either fuck you, or give you road head while your driving them to their insurance person..
I'd definitely heed the advice of this kid.

(And no, you'll never be a truly good driver while being the recipient of road head; you'll just think you are.)

lol what kind of attitude?? I dont act like this to anybody else except for douch bags on this forum. and if anybody keys my car, im sure it would be out of pure jealousy, im the nicest kid around, i never start shit with anybody, but i just HATE when people talk down to me and think they're so much better, and when did i ask for anybodys opinions at all?? All i ever said was that im a great driver, as in i dont get into accidents, and because everybody says highschools kids suck at driving, maybe you should define that, do you mean they suck because they speed, cut people off, and do dumb shit, or because they get into accidents??? THIS THREAD SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE LOCKED

TheWanterer316,

These all are opinions. Some of the opinions ring reality as everyone here was 17 once. There could be a rush to judgment on our part and your part, but it doesn't mean you have to negate everyone's comment. Just ignore it. You've started the thread on a ridiculous topic, why would an adult ask such a question?

It's like saying should I wear my Movado watch to play b-ball? Should I make a thread about it?

It's your call, your risk, and yes dad's or not, the car is still your responsibility when in your possession.

But nevertheless, enjoy the car, drive safely, and park your car with consequences in mind.

TheWanderer, out of curiosity, how many miles have you done so far overall?

I still can't believe 58 people voted in this poll when the choice is obvious.

Time to lock the thread. ;- ].

if your scared somebody will do something, you should get a motion sensor installed in your car and if anybody is near your car for a certain amount of time it goes off and alerts you. I think Viper sells it.

i drive my dads type s on occasion and its fine at skool.
people in my skool have more important things to worry about than what car every1 else is driving, they hardly notice the difference between me driving my beat up 1990 volvo one day and my dad's 07 nbp type s the next.
