Hey guys...so I just finished putting in new carpet in the car and put the interior back together. However, now the shifter is stuck and won't move unless I push the shift lock release with a screwdriver...kinda sucks having to drive like that. I plugged everything back in the same way I took things apart.

Could the gear selector switch be fried? Anyone else have problems with this?

Also, when I pulled the old carpet out this washer fell out of it...any idea what it is and where it goes?

 

Got the shifter figured out, forgot to plug in the shift lock solenoid. Wire ended up under the carpet and never saw it.

Still wondering what the part above is.

 

I usually take stuff apart and have stuff left over when I put it back together. Just save the part, and keep on driving.
