the RJ body kits sure looks better but it costs $2100!!
and for the A-spec body kit, it's not as nice looking but ONLY 799$!!

I like the RJ kit because it really sets you apart. not many people have them. If you want to jump on the bandwagon go with the factory kit. If you are not really concerned with the extra money spent, go with the RJ because your TL will stand out a lot more.

If I had the money, I would definitely go with Ron Jons. Here are some pictures to help you out. These are taken from Ron Jon's website. The TL looks a lot better with A body kit.

I don't like the front end on the RJ kit. It just doesn't do it for me.

Aspec is a nice subtle addition....RJ is much more noticeable IMO...
I would choose aspec for that reason

RJ = exclusivity.

Fitment is not an issue either way, but you have to realize what you are getting with the RJ. You are getting full bumper replacements vs. a lip kit (A-Spec).

That being said, I went with A-Spec because I wanted a more subtle look. RJ is definitely more aggressive.

I went with with the A-spec kit because I felt replacement parts would be more readily available.

i personally don't like the ron jon kit. the lines don't work to me. I was looking for something a little less cluttered w/o all the cut outs and mesh! until there are more kits out, I would go with the aspec.

I have A-Spec because the car came with it. If I had neither to start with I would go with the RJ kit.

I would just not eat for 4 weeks to cover the extra costs involved.

i like the aspec front and sides, but the rear just doesn't do it for me. anybody have the aspec kit without the rear? i'm thinking about doing this but i don't know how well the lines will match, what do you guys think? anyone with pics? maybe during installation, before they put on the rear? if it doesn't match well i might just get the front lip only.

ronjon is too $$ and too flashy, maybe if i was still 16.

I am sure you are right YoungnTL.....I just still cant believe the backwards view everybody took at it....lol! I mean...its if they WANTED to pay more and couldnt accept that this person was selling at $1050 or whatever it was and HAD to put an immediate stop to it! Funny as hell! That or people that paid the $1500 for the unfinished kit and were upset that somebody else could get it for $1050, which would truely be childish? The thread is here I am talking about....

Here is the link to mine that is in the photo gallery. I don't like the rear of the A-spec and I don't think the sides add much to the kit. Plus I have the splash guards and I didn't want to give these up. The front to me is the best part of the kit and it adds the noticeable and visual improvement to the TL. Compared to the rear the front is boring. The rear looks good stock IMO.

imo the a-spec kit molded would look hotter than the RJ, and prob be cheaper. i have had my car for about 3 months and may start to get itchy and have this work done.....

why would you guys choose the a-spec kit when it is not really noticable??
and also....many people dislike RJ kit's front bumper, may i ask why?

These are great pics of the two kits.

The RJ is just beautiful though. Look at how the cut outs, low on the front bumper compliment the shape of the headlight, as it sweeps upward and tapers slightly toward the outboard side of the car. Brilliant design consideration, IMHO. The vertical slot on the outmost part pf the bumper is probably functional too, allowing brake cooling? The slope of the rear bumper (underneath the trunk) effectively eliminates the "water damm - dirt collecting" ledge, that I know, you all know what I'm talking about.

If I had the money I would definitely get the RJ kit. But, 799 is pretty tempting for the standard Aspec kit.

I would choose Aspec because of the price difference. With the money you save (around $1300) you can buy a nice combination of mods (ie. intake & suspension, intake and exhaust, etc). Spending over $2000 on a mod that'll only give you aesthetic value and no performance value is a total rip off (unless, of course, you're buying some nice ass wheels).

I just bought he A-spec body kit for my car as well. Money wasn't the issue for me but I really wanted to keep the car stock or as close as possible. I've read other posts and I believe when you sell the car the next person most likely won't know the RJ kit is a great option. He will know about A-spec however! Most likely they will pay a premium for a car with A-spec options versus non factory options.

Just my !!

I would suggest you go with the RJ if you like it and its worth 2100 to you. Alternatively I would suggest you go with the A-spec if you like it and its worth 799 to you.

Personally, I like stock. You should stay stock.

you can't really say the A-Spec cost $799, becasue that is actually wholesale price. our kit is alot less expensive when sold as wholesale, but there has to be multiple purchases by a business who is resellign them and promoting our products. ANd, when compared to other RAW urethane kits with less than perfect fitment, our cost of $1500 with hardware and mesh included, ready to bolt on (without paint) is VERY competitive. Hell, Lorinser and AC Schnitzer kits can be upwards of $5k unpainted. So when considering that we only have about 100 kits ever built, its a great bargain, compared to God knows how many A-Spec lip kits. And yes, everry image on oir site has been watermarked as self promotion, and was sent to us for this purpose by the photographer. If any member chose not to have their car on our site, than we would comply. But seriously, who cares if it's not selling someone elses product as ours or vise versa.

So would you consider doing a group buy as a wholesale deal, if there were enough interest to meet wholesale quanity requirements?

Ron... I definately agree that the exclusivity of your kit attracts me. Maybe you have to see the kit in person to realize it's full potential. I do know, from watching these boards, you are a compliment to AZ and put out a very high quality, very thought out product. A group buy would definately peak my interest....

If Ron does start up a group buy, there should be no need to make it a sticky. Its popularity will keep it in the front page of the forum.

Just my .

I will be keeping a look out for this future group buy though.
