Removing the A on the trunk lid

My A logo is starting to pit after 7 Michigan winters and would like to get a new one. I've removed the trunk lining and see the 2 plastic push pins the hold the emblem on the trunk lid,but I don't know how to push them thru(out)to remove the emblem. You'd think Acura would put some kind of hole directly behind the emblem so you could tap them out with a punch or similar tool. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I guess I have to try and remove from outside the trunk lid?? Are the clips attached to the push pins? Does anew emblem come with new clips?. I still have to order a new A so I've got some time. Thanks for the reply...but I'm more confused after reading those posts. Sounds like not many people have done this.

New emblem (the decklid "A") does not come with clips. Just the emblem with the pins and pre-attatched 2-sided tape.

I've thought about doing mine black, but have never removed/replaced it, so I can't say for sure how it works.

I've got another link that might help. brb.

Here, see if this helps: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...0&postcount=12

I have had mine off prolly 6 times.

Just saw it off with fishing line or dental floss . Clean up the rest with Goo Gone.

Do I take it that you still reuse the clips on the push pins? or just the double-sided tape. I thought that they would break on removal.

The clips are like guides to hold it in place and align it ..I have used the same ones over and over.
