If you have any adhesive residue left over us Goo Gone to remove it .. be patient and let it do its job .. if you start rubbing too hard you may mar the area.
If its painted on stop at a body shop they will tell you what to use. Don't try outguessing or use advise from here on that side of it as some things that will remove a painted stripe may also not be clear coat friendly.

its rare that you will see the pinstriping painted on coming from the dealer....though for the price they charge you would think its gold leaf! My 08 came with it
I couldnt get it off fast enough
just do what Jess said if its a decal and you will be fine....may need to have it buffed though as the lines might still be visable due to fade

You could also wait for a hot day an let the car sit in the sun. If they are a vinyl sticker they should peel right off. The paint under them will most likey be a little different shade. But if you wax and after a while in the sun they should not be noticeable.

Another member recently PM'd me this same question, here's what our senior shop guy relayed to me:

If it's painted on then you'll need a body shop to rub it down with a special bit. Other wise if it isn't coming off easily we can have it done at our shop.
Hit me up if you're having trouble with it.
I reccommend you give a shot first before dropping any cash needlessly on it. Hit me back and let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

If it is painted on use laquer thinner or acetone. It will not harm the paint, but most painted-on pinstripes will come right off. I used this on a BMW I once owned. Do not use regular paint thinner because it evaporates too quickly.
Another way to take it off is to apply fineline tape along the top and bottom edges and then wetsand it off with 2000 grit. That will be more work and you will have to compound the entire side panel to blend it when you are done. However, you could lightly go over it with 2000 grit and then remove most of it with laquer thinner, which will make it go quicker.

Ouch. That sucks man.
Although, this may or may not apply to the OP, it is something to think about when buying a car.
If you're buying the car from a dealer, especially if new, before you take delivery of the car, tell them to take stuff like pinstripes and dealer stickers off.
It's no big deal, they do it all the time.
Both Acura's I've bought, I told the dealer, "No pin stripe, no dealer sticker, no mud guards". They were removed, no problem, before we showed up to sign the papers.
