Redline oil, CHEAP

I was looking around for the cheapest price by the quart. If anyone is looking to do an oil change soon should look into this.( http://www.autopartsdealer.com/search.aspx?searchTerm=Red-15304 ). This is the cheapest i've seen this sold by the quart ($8.83). Also got a Royal Purple oil filter ($10.31) ( http://www.autopartsdealer.com/royal_purple_oil_filter_102867-p1617487-p.html ) Also, shipping is very fast it seems. I ordered all of my stuff yesterday and it is estimated to be here tomorrow.

Is that $8.83 shipped? If so that's about $2/quart cheaper than the cheapest I've found and about $1 cheaper shipped than the Amsoil I usually get!

Our cars come with 5w20 from the factory. However, running 5w30 won't hurt anything and it's viscosity will give the engine that "smidgen" of extra protection over the 5w20. 5w20 was used by Honda to eke out the best fuel mileage numbers they could.

For those who have ordered: Did you spend more than $75 for the free shipping? When I tried to do this, a HUGE "handling" charge was added to the order!!!???

jr - you'll be fine.

HELP - need info from those who bought something from autopartsdealer! When I try to buy something over $75 to take advantage of the free shipping, I get hit with a handling fee. Have you guys experienced this? I'm beginning to feel this site is questionable.

Stay away for RL oil and RP filters

Not sure how erick and swoosh ordered but it's a rip off trying to buy redline (and/or RP filters) from these guys. Shipping is expensive and if you try to buy over $75, you get this ridiculous "handling" fee.

I called them and asked them why if I ordered 8 bottles of oil, there was no handling charge but if I ordered just one extra one, the handling fee is $170!!! The gave some BS answer saying that it's a hazardous material and if I ordered too much, it would have to be shipped differently. So what's the reason when I only order 5 bottle and 3 filters?

BTW - Racerpartswholesale has a decent price if you buy by the case. Reasonable shipping too.

i thought redline got dinged for having too much "good" stuff on their bottle? long story short: their products don't hold to what they claim to do. no?

no handling fees....no shipping cost....i saved $100 ordering from there as compared to Redline website itself....check it out....

Like PB said.. a little extra cushion.. especially for you higher mileage TL's.

RP > K&N oil filter.. but K&N is substantially cheaper and is a decent filter especially for the $$. You can buy 2 maybe even 3 K&N filters and still cost less than one RP filter.

Interesting. Do two separate orders? Definitely ridiculous.
