Red TL painted All Season Mats
So, I was looking at those black mats thinking...they need a little somthin'. So, I sanded the tops of the letters "TL", cleaned them with alcohol, then painted them RED with a tire paint pen. What do ya think...
I think it looks pretty damn good with the Red Type S stuff all over the car.
Simple, yet effective in catching the eye, no?

I like it! Good craftsmanship there. IMO that red paint looks best in the Type-S; for the base TLs, maybe a color match to the exterior paint.
I'm moving this thread out of Photo Gallery to the main forum to help you gain some deserved exposure.

Hot Tires
...but I got it at the local Advance Auto Parts store. I think it was like $6.
I wanted to use a paint that would stick to the rubber surface and not come off...maybe something pliable, thus, the tire paint.

They really only flex when you take them out for cleaning. Post up a pic when you're done.

I've thought the same thing. Hold tight, I'm working on some sort of embroidery solution. I'm thinking RED stitching to match the Type S badge! I'll keep ya posted.
I was also thinking that maybe someone had made some replacement headrests already embroidered, but can't seem to find any.

...or maybe sending them off to a company that would do it for me.

Always thought the mats look too plain jane, good idea!. I wouldn't be too concerned about flex. They'll bend only when you need to take your mats out to clean. In that case you just gotta lift them out being conscious not to bend that area.
Also that area being high traffic is less likely as most normal people will pass their feet over in front of the logo. I doubt many will step there, but never doubt the occasional talented gymnastic dodo who will find their feet right where you don't want them at a mission to smear your artwork.
I gotta try this in silver or blue... Pep Boys didn't have anything like this when I looked today.
BTW get those red lighted sills and complete the look! It will look wicked!

And sorry for the dirty sills...it FINALLY rained here after about three weeks of dryness and I got caught out in it

That looks great, those mats definitely need some spicing up.
I am planning on doing the same thing. I will sand the logo down and clean it before applying the paint. My question is: Will factory WDP touch up work well? I could always remove if it looks like crap, or throw on another coat if needed.
Thanks
