I got all set to do this mod and the damn "Hot Tires" paint pen I bought was dried out. It was the last one in stock.. oh well gotta keep searching for another one. I'm pissed because it took me almost a month to find it.

Did this today w/ a white tire paint pen I got from Ebay for 8 bucks shipped.

I think it came out pretty good. These mats need a little color to stand out.

^ What he said. I wasn't sure how they would turn out or wear over time. I have to say +1 to <<se7en>> for this unique mod. I'm very happy with the Hot Tires pen. This is probably the cheapest mod i've ever done

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life, this reminds me I have to do my Trunk Tray now too cause I think it has "TL" somewhere on it

That is a really creative idea. I think they should put that in all of their TL-S'. You might be able to make some money off this idea if you sent it to Acura.

I think it would look sweet. Go get yourself a Hot-Tires paint pen and give it shot. This is a very easy but visual rewarding mod. I've also heard it adds about 20HP but I have not been able to confirm this yet.

Wow, very nice, I like that idea, you're right it does go well with the red accents of the Type-S.

with all this stuff with the all-season mats, has anyone though of doing custom carpet mats, silver edges, with interior matched face and the TL logo in bodycolor or maybe blue? And for the Type S have silver with black theme with the TL in red?

I would estimate mine at about 15HP. If I sanded it down more, I'd probably reach the 20HP some other guys feel.

Still looks fine and it took a beating from softball and golf this summer. If it ever does start looking shitty, its an easy re-sand - re-paint.

they are really easy to install, well, at least the foot rest is. just drill a few very small pilot holes and screw it down. Get it from Supercomputers, he sells them on Acurazine.

Silver. I'm sticking with an interior black on silver color scheme.

Thanks leedogg........would you happen to have the item number or the name of the product you used?
I've been searching and the only colors the "Hot Wheels" pens come in are yellow red and white.......
Could I use my Anthracite touch up paint? would that hold on the rubber.......

do a search on ebay for tire paint. It's one of those 6.49 things, just specify silver. Your touchup paint was not meant to adhere to rubber. Gunmetal would be a cool color though...a CF overlay would be even cooler..

i think the silver one is a bit overboard. hope is just that because any more "painting" of parts, things will get a lil ricey..

it's subtle and minimal, and passengers could EASILY think they came like that stock, as the colors match up nicely with the rest of the interior.

damn

leedogg.....thanks for the pix....I just put up my order off ebay. I don't have a Type-S, so red TL on the mats for me wouldn't look as good, and white and yellow is no good either.

Thanks Ebay for my silver paint pen....see how long it takes to get to Canada....

I bought mine from ebay and searched "tire paint pens". This guy sell paint pens for motorcycle tires. Colors include silver, blue, green, white, red and others. They sell for $6.49 plus $2.50 shipping.
