i've only had one issue with mines so far, but i'll take the brightness and some issues. they're lifetime warranty will cover all of the parts, the only thing you pay for is the shipping to send back the defective items.

i had the LED switchbacks before the Tritons and the Tritons are definitely bright during the daytime, even in direct sunlight. The LED switchbacks were hard to see in sunlight, which I didn't like.

yeah, my leds are not bright in sunlight now, which is the main reason I'm considering the tritons. any best practices in terms of installing these?

Has anybody had any issues with their Gen2 V3 switchbacks causing their factory fuse for the taillights/sidemarkers to blow. I had to disconnect both my V3s today because they started blowing my factory fuse every time I turned the sidemarkers on or locked the car. I've had them installed for 2 months prior with no issues.

Sounds like the LED module may have a short in it if the fuse blows that quick.

Just thought I'd chime in with some info that I couldn't find myself while searching the forums.

After watching some YouTube videos, I decided to go with VLED's platinum series bulbs (both for the front/amber and the back/red). Just this morning I installed all four of them (with one 3-ohm 50 watt resistor mounted on each side in the trunk), and everything works perfectly.

These bulbs are much brighter than the stock rear turn signals (MUCH brighter), and marginally but still noticeably brighter than stock front turn signals. There are no fit problems - they fit in nicely and aren't too loose/tight.

So these bulbs are perfect for people looking to upgrade their TL's bulbs to LEDs for less money (the tritons cost twice as much as these), while not sacrificing the light output or quality.

NOTE: installing the resistors will be a lot easier if you use t-taps. They allow you to avoid splicing anything and save you quite a bit of time. Available for $2.99 at AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts (part #85468). The DIY to install these taps are available here.

I'm bumping this, I just installed the tritons in the front (amber), and i was just wondering if anyone has had any issues with water getting the module wet. Right now i currently have it mounted on the thin bar, just like "sockr1" did on page 5.

Anyone have any input? Thanks.

^^^ that area should stay pretty much completely dry. The plastic wheel well liner would stop any water from the tires, and above it is the fender, hood, and under hood covers. In front if it is the headlight and bumper cover. That area should be perfectly fine for the box, and ontop of that I'm sure that box was made to be pretty much water proof.

I just dropped mine in the engine bay temporarily while I made sure everything fit and worked properly. That was 8 months ago without any issues. I keep telling myself I need to permanently affix them but......

Hey guys having troubles. Just got a replacement set and they won't fit in my front turn signal housings with the 2 3mm screws on either side and the one large gasket as they had originally been configured.

Am I missing something? My thumb is all cut up from trying to make them fit.

I just bought and installed a pair of amber V3 Tritons (gen 2, with control box, built-in resistor and fuse).

I take back what I said 8 months ago about the Platinum series being acceptable (I'm referring to the amber bulbs). I didn't realize that the amber Tritons were over 2.5 times brighter (430 lumens vs. 170). I only noticed now because I started paying attention to the LED in the reflection of the car in front of me while driving, and when it's sunny, I can barely see it flash. I took a look at it from the outside after parking, and "full brightness" in sunny conditions looked like a parking light more than anything. I still recommend getting the Platinum reds if you want to save money, because they're just about the same brightness as the Tritons, and plenty bright during the day.

Now I realize why cars with LEDs from the factory seem so overwhelming at night...it's because LEDs perform poorly in the sun and the brightness is increased to make up for that.

vLEDs is having a 20% labour day sale and I will be ordering myself a set of these v3 Tritons. I can't make up my mind whether to go with the 5K or 6K. People say 5K has yellow in it, and also will they match OEM HIDs? how far will 6K be off with stock bulbs? I've searched all night to see what the 6K's look like but everyone but seems to be everyone has 5K's.. I initially wanted a 6K front end setup!

Does anybody have pictures to the 6K v3 Tritons?

Thanks!

^^ if you want to get close to the headlights, go 5k switchbacks

If you don't care about them matching closely go 6k.

Pics will say the same thing. Headlights are 4300 I believe and for me personally I thought it would look kinda funny with something not as close to oem. If you want to have the 6k look go for it!

Either way a great product!!

I say go 5k, but that's just me as I think they would match stock headlights better like sockr said above.

If you are on stock bulbs, I would definitely go with the 5k. I have Osram 66240 CBI 5K installed along with the V3 Triton 5k package and they are a pretty close match.

I'm going to order the 5K's. Do I need to order the 1157 power adapter as well? And also, does anybody have pictures of the 6K?

Sorry, Just want to make sure of everything as $100+ is a lot to put down towards two LED bulbs!

I got my v3 tritons already in and installed! Im part satisfied..

Installation was easy and all but there are a few problems..
1. When I turn the parking lights on, the driver side goes automatically to white BUT the passenger side turns on to amber and takes about three seconds to turn white.

2. Drivers side is flashing REALLY fast, I believe this is hyperblinking? I did order the Gen2 (latest) and I thought this problem didn't exist with these?

3. My passenger side doesn't blink or switchback at all!! My side mirrors blink and rear but no response to the switchback.

I haven't installed a relay because It doesn't really need one but maybe that might be the fix? Other than that, the output of the 5K light is insane! It's almost a dead on match with the OEM 4300k HIDs and couldn't be happier. Is there fixes to these problems and if so how!

You don't use relay harnesses for turn signals.

The tritons come with a 5A fuse that you can put in the fuse holder to prevent hyper flashing. Did you put that fuse in?

Alright, installed my V3's

With or without fuse the right side blinks when I activate my left turn signal.

I was experiencing problems with my stock runner on the left not working prior to this, even when i swapped in a known working stock bulb.

Guessing this means my harness is bad, any help appreciated.
