I plan to buy an Escort 8500. Any recommendations on how to mount it permanently in a 04 TL?

got mine on the suction cup mount just above the rear vire mirror on the left side. Works great and still have use of the visor. Get the optional hard wire kit and your set. Oh and make sure you have the front of the detector just below the tint strip at the top of the windshiels for effective readings.

I have a 8500, if I buy the smart(direct)cord how and where do you run the wires to Thanks?

Doesn't the suction cup mount affect the finish on the windshield glass?

This is from the manual:

"Caution. Some windshields have an anti-lacerative" coating. Use of suction cups could permanently mar the coating."

Does anyone know if the TL's windshield has this coating?
