Question regarding leaving the car in a garge for 2 months
Guys, I am taking a vacation for 2 months and not going to be able to drive/start my TL . What would you guys suggest that I do to take care of the car, so I don't damage it when I come back and start it.

Keep a full tank of gas maybe add some seafoam (http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUpTechGas.htm) to the gas to stablize it. Put a battery charger on it (http://batterytender.com/default.php?cPath=11_2) to make sure you don't come back to a dead battery. Cover or plug the exhaust tips so nothing gets in them and if you have some carpeting or something like that put it under the tires so there off the concrete to prvent dry rotting.

We should do a meet or something one of these days, considering all of us live around here...

At the very least disconnect the battery, but make sure you still have those codes available. I would recomend putting the battery on a constant charger as once a car battery completly changes, the led starts to break down and the battery is never quite the same. Where are you going for two months that could be more important than your TL?

If you disconnect the battery make sure you have the code to be able to use your radio and Navi. But you should put a charger on it to keep it from geeting weak. The battery might be ok after tow months of sitting around as far as voltage. The amperage might be to low to crank the engine to start the motor, remember you do have a high compression motor.

Make sure the interior is completely dry and that the car won't be sitting in complete darkness for the entire length of time or you might end up with a big mold problem. That is what happened to me when I recently parked my old Honda Accord in a dark garage for a few months.
Try to have someone drive it for you every couple of weeks.

I realize you can't drive the TL for that time period, and that obviously warrants a sad face. However you are going on a vacation for 2 months, so it sounds like you don't have it that bad.

I agree, fill it up before you let it sit... but other than that, let's not be neurotic! It will still be there when you get back, promise Give it a nice wash n wax when you get back maybe.

As for a meet, you people have got to be kidding me...there was one this past spring...did anyone from up off 85 show up? Nope. There's another meet/car show on Nov 5 (not sure I'm going to make it now, but still). I know, you guys must just not like to drive...how about a meet/night out in Chapel Hill the weekend of the 29th? Halloween in CH is off the charts! Oh yeah...MEET INFO is always here/should be posted here .
