Question for Pohanka Virginia TLers....tire vibration issue

This is where I bought my 04. I would like to know from those who have the 50mph vibration issue, have you taken it in to Pohanka, what was your experience, who was your service manager, what info you were told, and if any resolution or tire replacement.

I thought this may help for everyone who is dealing with Pohanka on the Bridgestone tire issue. I'm getting annoyed and want to get it resolved soon by Acura.

I'm just very curious about this 50mph vibration issue. I'd love to sit in your car when the vibration is present to see what you mean.

I have some slight vibration noise from the engine at 50mph, but its source is very obvious to me and does not seem abnormal: extremelly low RPM for the speed. That's the way TL was calibrated and it's not much dissimilar from the 2003 TL-S. Do I enjoy it? NO. I simply try to avoid driving at that speed. Do I believe it's a real issue? NO. That's the function of the car's design resulting from aiming for higher fuel efficiency.

So what I wonder is whether the people who are experiencing the vibration issue are experiencing something different, or if they're just too sensitive.

They are different feelings altogether. The 50mph vibe from the tires is more of a shimmy; it's probably only 3-5 Hz. The lugging from the drivetrain at 1500rpm is more like a buzz.

At least that was the case with my car.

As svtmike said, they should be different. I'd like to test-drive those vibration vehicles, too. (but, I probably know how it feels, my first test-drive was in October 6, that car was having some serious vibration from the tires to steering wheel. it's terrible.)

I have the similar vibration as you're feeling on your car. It's subtle feeling from the tranny or engine, especially at 5th gear about 1400-1800 RPM.

I try to use SS to prevent engaging too early at 5th in certain range of speed.

So you change your tires is because they don't grip well in snow/icy, right? not because the vibration of EL42s?

And is it felt through the steering wheel, gas pedal, seat of the pants or all of the above?

Primarily the steering wheel (which amplifies it for the driver), but it was strong enough that you didn't have to be driving to feel it.

Yes, as mentioned, the vibration is primarily felt in the steering wheel. Put transmission into neutral, and the vibration still can be felt at 50-55mph.

My case is a little different, I only feel vibration from the floor and seat, not steering wheel or pedals. My TL only has subtle vibration at 5th gear between 50-55 MPH and 1400-1800 RPM. However, if I shift to neutral or 4th gear, the vibration is gone.

That's not a tire vibe then.

Sorry, mistake to put MPH there...

I don't have vibration from EL42s.

Based on your message, "They are different feelings altogether. The 50mph vibe from the tires is more of a shimmy; it's probably only 3-5 Hz. The lugging from the drivetrain at 1500rpm is more like a buzz", I think I have slight vibration from drivertrain, Engine, or Tranny.

In those conditions I have mentioned, I feel them. If shifting to neutral or downshifting to 4th, they're gone.

I will have my tl in service tomorrow morning to take a look at this tire vibration issue. My service manager will be Jerry Soriano. I've already mentioned to my sales rep that others have taken there tl in there and balancing tires won't solve the problem, so be forwarn and don't waste my time. I'll post what happens.

Still think the 1500 RPM "buzz" is the exhaust system...something w/a butterfly type valve or gate in transition. Guess not, if it only happens in certain gears not others?
