question on headlights
question on headlights
hey guys, i was just looking at my car today with my headlights on, and the lens on the headlight looked like it had many little rockchips ... is that possible, its a 2007 tl, so i would think it would be too new to have that many rockchips ... but when the headlights are off, it looks perfect, so i was just wondering whats up with you guys, and if anyone has had the same experience.
i was thinking of investing in rockblocker for my headlights, do you guys think its worth it?? or should i wet sand my headlights and then get rock blocker??

just put some vinyl on them before you get anymore damage, DO NOT SAND THEM.
The most I would do if I was you would be to get some miguers plast-X, it is a rubbing compound for clear plastic. Follow the directions apply like 3 coats and be happy with whatever results you get.
Then get vinyl covering. I put a light 60% tint on my headlights which I got from BlueBat the vendor here. Pics are in the forum.

Has your car got many winter miles? Or do you tail gate a lot? I live in snow country and have an 06 that has none of that . Could it be a flaw on the inside? If so its a warranty thing.
Also can you catch the tip of a pin in the marks? This will tell you inside or out.
Be careful withthe vinyl overlays ... go with a quality one like RockBlocker if you have your headlights on a lot at low speed .. as the film does insulate a bit.

VQ..Don't sand them, I agree with Evan, plastx is the way to go i yoru situation. And I recommend rockblocker to protect the headlights, I'd probably do clear because you know the po-po in Richmond

i don't tailgate much, but yes i have taken the car out in the snow ... so maybe that is the problem ...
for the rockblocker ... will it discolor or look bad over time ... and how effective is it really in protecting the headlight??

Smoked would be cool. I saw another TL at VCU with em..and i mean im guessing he doesnt have problems with the police. I need to do something to my Tails too..Had em blacked but got busted haha. Smoked..hmm maybe
It would look better on yours because of the TLS tails
