Question about Opening Windows w/ Alarm Remote

Anyone knows why is it possible for us to open the windows and roof with the unlock button from the switch blade key but can't close them back the same way using the lock button?

Silly question but since I got the car I have been asking this myself..

Yea that's pretty dumb if you ask me. However, K&P Technologies sells a module that connects to 5 wires in your driver door that allows you to roll the windows and sunroof back up. I have not yet purchased this, but from what I've read it's a great solution.

Here's a link. There's even a discount.

Don't get in a habit of doing this as one day I found all my windows down and the roof open after being at the movies, apparently I must have hit the key fob more than one time as I walked away..... ...

All our windows have auto reverse though if it runs into anything during closing. Page 100-101 in our owner's manual.

I rarely use it since you cant close them back up.. I do use it sometimes in the afternoon when it's still real hot while walking towards the car.. this way when I get into it its not an oven.. I live in PR we have pretty much 80+ weather all year.. And thanks for the advice!

they will only roll down as long as you hold the unlock button they dont just go down by themselves by hitting it twice and you can roll them back up by putting the key in the door and locking it twice and holding it on the second time like you would on the fob which i think was retarded but at least you can roll them back up without having to get in the car and turning the power on unless you have the shaved door lock mod like i do and then your screwed ne ways

not that thats a useful feature anyway... have to be within 10 feet of the car before i can get my remote to keep a constant signal with the car. by the time i can get them down, i'm reaching for the handle anyway.

maybe if they ever offer factory remote start, the remote range will improve (although its nice not worrying about unlocking my car in my pocket accidentally).

its for safety precaution as to why the windows cant roll up with the remote. theres a module you can get that allows you to do roll up on the remote.

Good info. For anybody with an 07, it's on page 113 of the manual. I assume the 08's are the same.

you guys know you can roll up the windows by sticking your key into the drivers door and locking the car (holding the key turned) the windows and sunroof will go up/close by themselves. I will still check out that module you guys are talking about. sounds pretty cool.

Yes; No. See owner's manuals in the 3G Garage if you don't have one.
