I'm holding out for a month or so. Usually doesn't snow much in Minneapolis before the end of November.

I gotta get new tires for the stock wheels. I would like to try and wait past Thanksgiving till i switch them, but that will all depend on the weather.

In Chicago I usually do my swap around Halloween which is coming up soon. I switch back to summers usually the last week of March or first week of April. I've been swapping winter/summer wheels now for about 10 years and this schedule usually works for me in Chicago. I don't just hold out until we get snow because summer rubber turns rock hard when the temps are cold and handles like crap.

Too early in CT. Since they are on separate wheels I just change them out in the garage when the forecast calls for snow. Or if I'm going to be busy I just do it the day after Thanksgiving.

When I see snow in the forcast is when im switching them out

the main reason people switch wheels out is because of the salt that they throw when it snows right? because ive always been confused on why and thought it was because of this.

I switch mine out because summer only tires suck in cold weather and especially suck in snow/ice. I would only drive in the snow with summer only rubber if I had a death wish, and even the rubber cold really hard in cold weather and doesn't grip the pavement very well. Keeping the salt and other winter crap off your nice summer wheels is another big plus to having two sets of wheels. If I rolled on all-season rubber rather than summer only I'd keep my nicer wheels on the car a lot longer.

When I see that there is snow in the forecast and it actually looks like it is going to stick, thats is when I put the stock wheels and snow tires on. I hope that is not for at least another month. I generally find that here in west michigan that I usually put them on around thanksgiving. It was 36F this morning though...but no snow in the forecast.

Thanks for letting us know. Why doesn't everyone who lives somewhere warm tell us that they don't have to, that sounds like a good use of this thread...
