Purchasing 2007 TL with 90k mi

Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a 2007 TL with 90k miles. I'm new to the forum and new to the Acura community but excited about Joining it. Other than standard used car buying cautions, what things should I be paying attention to specifically to the TL when buying a used one?
Any input would be great, thanks in advance.

the 90k service would likely be needed, which probably includes replacemnet of certain components and fluids (I don't have a manual, so i can't say which ones)

Motor mounts would be a good thing to check. Make sure the HFL works too, if it doesn't fixing it is possible but it involves either baking the board or replacing it. Check for power steering noises when cold also. Keep in mind the 105k service (timing belt, water pump etc) probably won't be done so you'll have a good 1000$ to spend quite soon.

i would check the transmission how it shifts. Then paul the stick and smell it make sure there is no burning smell. Look for any leaks and check the oil. Listen for knocks. An check under the car for leaks. Take it for a drive and make sure the vehicle isn't hesitating and listen carefullynfor knocking when driving . Good vehicles but xspensive to fix. If possible take it to a reliable mechanic.

Thanks

Great, thanks guys. I have bought several used cars before and will do the routine checks with a mechanic for fluids, leaks, noise ect. Just wanted to be aware of specific things to watch for that Acura TLs might be known for when coming up on 90k-100k miles. This helps
Good point on 105k timing service. I'm sure this has not been done

Welcome Rob. Also, just know that the major tune at 105,000 is coming up too.

Very true. I just bought a '07 TL w/ nav at 117K miles just under 3 weeks ago. The HFL was dead. I did not feel like tackling the job myself so I had the dealer replace it. I also had an old "Gas Cap Tighten" message (stored from June) which I deleted following the XM/Nav instructions on this forum.

The car is in excellent shape. The previous owner had the 105K service done in July, including a transmission fluid and filter change. The selling dealer replaced the control arm bushings, did a synthetic oil change, and replaced the air and cabin air filters. They also put new Uniroyal TigerPaw tires on the car. After I purchased the car I ditched the Uniroyals for Michelin PS AS/3s. I also did a brake fluid flush, replaced the battery with an AGM battery, changed the PS fluid (turkey baster method), and cleaned and conditioned the leather with Lexol.

I'm in the same boat as you, looking for a TL and thinking the same thing.

I had a look at this page and found what TSB's would apply to a candidate TL so I know what things to check for:

https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-016-a-613659/

Some items are VIN specific so be sure make sure to take note of that!
