Price seem okay?

I have found a 2007 Asm Type S 5at near my town that was newly listed and wanted some feedback. They want 11,200 otd, the car has 88,856 miles. It was a one owner locally owned car with one accident in 2013 to the front or side, disabling the car but did not deploy airbags(had to be towed). Would this be a fair price? (Car is in the shop so no pictures)

NO, not for a 13 year old 5AT with accident damage. Fair price would be in the $4k to $6k range.

For an automatic in showroom condition, the price might be a tad low, for an average Type-S 5AT in average condition, the price might be a bit high, even with the low mileage. If the car is real clean I'd offer $9,500 and go from there.

Ummm, maybe for a base model, but we're talking about a Type-S here.

The dealership will not move on the price, they want 11,200 otd while I think 10,500 would be decent🤷‍♂️

I'd sell my auto 2008 NBP TL-S which I purchased new, no accidents, paint or body work and in excellent condition for much less than $9k. No way, I'd pay more that $6k for one that's been in an accident.

Assuming your car is clean, that is about what I would expect.

New update, car is listed on Cargurus for 9,990, the price was just put on there not long ago. The website still doesn't have a price, but either I'm getting lied to or my advisor is horrible.

Shopping for used cars = getting lied to, sure as death & taxes.

88k miles is a good find, minor accidents aside.

What colors paint & interior?

You got a good point there! Since the car was just a recent trade in it's at the shop. From the information on the website, exterior is Alabaster Silver Metallic the interior is unknown for time being. Hopefully it's ebony/silver!

You can use AZ vin decoder to see more details.

Don't write off a car because of accident reports. One of my previous cars showed it was side swiped on the CarFax. The reality is that someone hit the mirror with a baseball bat driving down the road (they hit several car mirrors on the road) and I filed a police report. That showed up as being sideswiped.....for a $150 mirror being broken off the car.

The car the OP is looking at was towed away...how do you know they didn't bump the curb the popped the tire? Or even if it has a perfect CarFax....it could have been run through a fence on a drunken night, towed back to the house and repaired out of pocket. No police or insurance report, no accident info on a CarFax.

Look the car over to see if it was repaired correctly. Do the body lines match up, how is the paint match, is there any rust forming, look underneath the car, pull the engine bay covers, feel along the front bumper cover to see if the bumper beam and supports are all there and consistent...lots of things you should do when buying a used car no matter what the report says. My TL has a completely clean history, but with the amount of paint that has come off of the front bumper, my guess is that bumper has been re-sprayed at some point in its life and the prep work wasn't done properly. A different previous car got rear-ended when it was 8 months old...$10k in damage to the car (this was in 2000), insurance fixed it. I kept that car for 8 more years and 180k miles and you would have never known it got smashed and repaired. The repairs were done correctly, no rust, and it was in perfect condition when I sold it.

Very good point you have here, I'll make sure to keep that in mind!

Along with my TL I have a 2010 Honda Fit as a daily. I was rear ended, really bumped from behind, had no damage at all. Got a police report as I was in the front line of 3 cars involved. I happen to check the carfax on the car.....dealer somehow gave me free carfax for life on that car, and through the app Carfax now reports an accident on my car and says "rear end primarily damaged" I went back and forth through email with Carfax, contacted my insurance agency, sent police reports (which didn't state that I had no damage) sent pics of my car and they just stopped responding to me after they said there's nothing they can do. There's no way to talk to an actual person either. Carfax isn't always correct.
