Pressure switches

I have 94 k on my 08 TLS, AT. I have never replaced the pressure switches. I did ask at the dealer sometime ago about replacing them. The answer was I believe," not recommended"
Also, I have changed all the fluids with the exception of the rear end. Opinions and suggestions welcomed, Thanks in advaance.

After reading countless times on the forum that changing the pressure switches has made a positive difference in the way the transmission reacts, I'm going to go with its recommended. Waiting on mine to arrive within the next week hopefully.

Sure, I've been changing it at the 3K intervals..... That still doesn't explain the 'rear end' fluid-- to change mine, I just open the kenooter valve right underneath the Wilikson joint on the front right side of the engine bay.

sure, that is all fine and dandy to change the FRONT blinker fluid reservoir. i think you are getting the front and rear fluids confused.

is that why my blinker is dim on the right side rear? I haven't changed the fluid in 40k miles.

The need to change pressure switches is at least partly driven by age of car, which your car is fine. On the other hand, you have enough miles on the car to easily justify the minor effort and cost of change to ensure that transmission will have a long life. Waiting until you see issues will cause excessive clutch wear do slow plate engagement and may reduce life of transmission.

I think what Bill meant was rear differential

And I suggest you replace the pressure switches regardless of whatever advice the dealership gave you

Here's the DIY https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/110-b-diy-guide-replacing-3rd-4th-gear-pressure-switch-3g-tl-2007-2008-a-840630/

Thanks for this, I found the rear blinker fluid reservoir under the spare tire...kind of silly to put it there when it needs changed every 3K miles...

This is a front wheel drive car, why would there be a differential in the rear? Just an axle back there.

so, he's a little confused.
which we cleared up.
let's not drag on the simple mistake the OP made.

we dont have a rear differential. so no fluids need to be changed.

As we've said many times, the dealer is just going to "recommend" and tell you what his "Acura" book says. He's not doing anything wrong, just doing as he is trained. He can't go any other way, he can get in trouble.

If anyone needs a slap it is Acura itself. This is a KNOWN problem that they will NOT admit to. By changing their maintenance schedule that has been in place all these years is like admitting fault that there is a problem. What they really deserve is a class action lawsuit from all of us regarding this crap transmission.

You can trust them (people who defend their own interests) or us. (owners who are just like you that want to do the best thing for the longevity of our car.)

Thousands of threads about this at this point. The benefits of doing the switches and fluids is a no-brainer.
