Looking into the new 04 TL. I live in Socal. Is it possible to get an 04 for close to invoice? Thanks!

Re: Possible to get 04 for invoice?

I heard employees of dealers having some promotion deals for themselves, perhaps, they will be good to their families members, and closed friends...

One of salesman in Acura dealer ever told me in December, he would get $1k off invoice of Non-Navi 5AT, it's their price for staff.

Otherwise, the non-Navi with popular color combo 5AT may be able to accept this price months later.

I'm looking at a 5AT w/ Nav. So the general consensus would be no then? I have a friend working at Honda. Maybe I can ask him about the deals.

NAVI unit off invoice? Don't think so. Not even for owners son...More likely Invoice PLUS $500 for employees. Most are still paying nearly list with $500 to $800 off MSRP being the norm for NAVI units.

I don't think you can realistically get a Navi 5AT for invoice or anything near invoice. Due to the demand well exceeding the supply of the Navi's, this won't change anytime soon.

the best you'll see anywhere in the southern cali area is going to be 1500 off sticker with maybe soe accessories thrown in. Thats pretty much it. Sold two in the last week for 950 below sticker with out a fuss..

Mike...If you are anywhere near the valley or would like to buy a car from a valley dealer, I can refer you to the sales manager at the place I bought my car. Very happy with the process there.

Don't get greedy. Remember the law of supply and demand. If you pick a popular color, it will be tougher to bargin. If you don't mind that one in the lot with the fixed dent and the low vin you might get close to invoice. Don't even think of Navi if a bargin is one of your highest priorities.

You can't even get a non-NAVI one at invoice!

Don't forget that even at invoice, dealers make a 3% profit from Acura (holdback).

Here's the link...

Northride is next to Porter Ranch. Dealer location doesn't matter to me. I bought my other car in Irvine (50+ miles away). Please PM me. Thanks!

Mike, go to Keyes in Van Nuys and talk to Dan Carlton the General Sales Manager. If you want, tell him that I sent you...we know each other very well - I'm a long time customer, etc.

Keyes wont ask for a deposit, won't play games with you. 818-782-1120.

You won't get the kind of discount you're talking about for a Navi. I got $1300 off MSRP ten weeks ago (not from Keyes because they couldn't get the color I wanted, as quickly as I needed it), but the supply/demand issue is a is huge factor now, and there are a dozen salesmen trying to move the same car you want. Non-navi is clearly a different story.

Thats the same place/guy I was going to recommend. Great place, and a great manager. Make sure to deal directly with him...no need to deal with sales people. This is Dan's direct line- 818-907-4103. Let him know that Acuraddict and I recommended him to you...he likes to know when he gets people from this forum.

I went to South Bay Acura and they wanted a $500 deposit to even think about getting a TL. WTF? They said getting one with NAVs is going to be tough. But they have non-navi (6MT) on the lot.

On a slight detour, what about other states? AZ and TX? Is the demand high there as well? I'm willing to buy out of state. Has anyone ever done this?

Find the best deals running (750-800 over invoice), then subtract about 50/mo for next few months if you can wait. Preferably a well stocked dealer and pick from the lot at end of the month.

Looks like Southern Cal is a hot market for the TL. I can wait a month or so and see where it's at then.

jdl75,
Where at in Ohio? I may be purchasing a 04 6MT/Navi in a month or two. Do you think you might be able to set me up?

I was told that for each 2004 TL the dealer sells at MSRP s/he will be eligible for some outstanding comps like trips to Japan and the Geisha houses for some R&R. That's why Honda was giving 3.9% and highballing trades. Then again maybe I was getting feed a bunch of BS. Anyway the TL is worth $$$$ more compared to some of the POS' Detroit is making.

One more thing. Even though I bought off the carrier almost (car still had white plastic on hood, etc. when I was rooting around the back lot) Lo and behold I got a $399 plus 6% tax surprize from the finance guy for the "Protection Package"--wheel locks, truck tray, and very old man black mud flaps. Was told the salesman forgot to tell the "prep guys" no packs. Comprende? Right. What was I going to do? I was in love by then. The finance manager at least didn't ask me to bend over and squell like a pig, but I did hear the Deliverance music. Pun intended.

If you told your salesman, no prep packages and they still put them on your car and charged you $399 for it, I would have walked my arse out of the dealership or seriously bluffed doing it and they would have ate that $399 with the quickness.

Sounds like an Ed Martin Acura sales ploy to me...
