I was kinda sketchy about plasti-dipping my emblems and front grill on my 2004 WDP TL at first, but I finally grew a pair and decided to do it. Call me lazy, but I left everything on the car (e.g., front bumper, grill, and all emblems) I'm super pleased with the way it all turned out! It definitely exceeded by expectations! Planning on dipping my real tail lights and probably all 4 corners as well!
Plasti-dip is so easy to use. You can pretty much paint anything and it peels off easier then vinyl. Just tape off a area around what you want to paint about 2" and it will peel off any area with a separation.

Exactly, IMO you cant beat it the looks for $7 a can!
Plasti-Dip really is an amazing thing. I remember how about I was the first time I learned about the it. It is great knowing if you mess up, you can always peel it off and redo it.
A good tip for the first time users would be to make sure you guys do multiple coats (also providing enough time to dry between coats), and also remember the weather needs to be warm for you to achieve the best results.
the dip on my grille is still holding up pretty well for a year(?) now. Only small scratch is from some piece of road debris that also scratched up my bumper.
Haven't had a problem yet I live in a small town in MS so the cops aren't too strict. However, if I get pulled over all I have to do is just peel it off
I had dipped the grill, then got in a small fender bender a few months later. When I got the car back from the body shop, I guess they had gotten confused or something because they painted the bottom of the grill a glossy black and left the middle bar dipped. Don't know what to do about it haha, it looks strange.
If this helps, I did the stock rims black.
And a combination of red and black on the grill.
It was 42 degrees outside.
Wow that red in the inlays of the grill looks amazing. I just painted my Acura symbol today and feel like it was missing something. This is it! What kind of paint did you use and what was your method 1black_seven? Im thinking Q-Tip?
I Actually did this while I'm working on the headlights so I tookthe grille apart and tapes the bumper off. I did get some over spray and wiped it off but took a little elbow grease. Ive read if you don't have enough plasti dip it'll be very hard for it to come off. So make sure you use enough. I've used 4 coats.
Next time, wax the car first and then put some of that detailer spray on it before you start.
When you are done, use microfiber towell to remove overspray immediately before it sets up

Its red and black plasti-dip.
I taped off the acura emblem and painted the entire grill black.
Then I taped off the grill and painted the emblem red. Looks like the used end on a maxi pad
Lastly I taped off everything except the horizontal indentations and went red over it.
Always have an exacto knife handy. And cut and peel slow.
Did my grill and fog light bars to match my dipped rims and emblems in the back. By the way if you want the emblem to be the only thing not dipped, just spray over it anyway with all the coats and just peel it off of the emblem. Its very easy and it peels off perfectly around the emblem, save yourself masking time.

I will most likely attempt the plasti-dip phenomenon this weekend if I can find somewhere to comfortably do it at. Sucks living in an apartment with no garage or shop available to do what I want to my new TL
I've messed around with Pastidip a lot. Today I put 4 base coats down and then a full can of bronze metallizer on top. Unfortunately it's to dark to take pics of the bronze. But tomorrow...
Thanks! Yeah I think I'm changing the front grill and the bar along the back above the license plate. Probably just gloss black though. I tried the bronze and didn't like it. It looks good on the rims though!
