Pissed at my TL......
Here's my rant. I have an 07 TL base with 67k on it. I maintain it well. I got to the dealership today for an oil change and drain and refill the tranny. ( tranny fluid never been done since I've owned with 36k) I'm waiting and my service advisor comes out and tells me it needs brake pads ( which I knew) and it failed the battery load test. It's the original battery so it doesn't surprise me it needs one. No big deal. Then he tells me there's an engine oil leak. I'm like WHAT!! For $35 they'll run a dye through to find it. I said no, don't bother. As I continue to wait I pull up these forums on my phone and find out that it's probably the rear main seal. I check the oil once every 2 weeks or so and it's never down even a little. I did notice a small spot on my driveway but thought nothing of it thinking it probably wasn't my car. So I'll have my personal mechanic look at it. Now mind you the car I traded in for this TL was a 99 Maxima SE 5 speed with 234k and didn't leak nor burn a drop of oil nor any other fluid. And this car having a oil leak at 67k is bullshit. I can see up toward 100k, but not 60k. Unbelievable.
Thanks for reading. A lot of people don't seem to bother with it til it gets bad.....

It could be a rear main seal but other sources as well. If there's a concern for the rear seal, any chance high mileage oil with seal conditioners might help, albeit temporarily? I just wonder since your oil loss is effectively non existent if high mileage oil might help.
When I first read the title I thought it said Pissed on my TL.....
Back on topic, sounds like you're not losing much oil at all. Are you sure you have an oil leak OR was the "drain plug" slightly loose? Even though the dealer offered to run some dye, for some reason I'm wondering if it's a simple fix and they're trying to scheme money out of you or if there's really an underlying issue here. I don't know the integrity of your dealer so I could be way off base.

Which side is the oil leak? Coz my 07 has a leak I thought that it was a rear main seal leak but found out that it was a leak at the rack & pinion which needs replacing

Had a similar problem and monitored it closely for a while. turns out that it was my oil pump. I replaced it which was expensive but I haven't leaked a drop since.
Granted most shops can be dirtbags but it is well worth your while to develop a trusting relationship with a good shop for mechanical issues that you cannot fix yourself. Even though my job was expensive, it was worth every penny as reliability is pretty important to me.
Good luck!

^More great advice.
Thanks.
Yes I wanted to piss ON it too. But I still love it. They've been known to be dirt bags sometimes like any dealer I guess. But I'll put a paper under it a few nights and observe. Could've been a loose drain plug. I'll raise the car and tighten tomorrow. Thanks for your input
The leak seems to be right in the middle. It's looks like its dripping off a shiny sort of metal thing about 2' back from front of car. It didnt leak today and not enough to make the dipstick show down oil. Up to yesterday April was my last oil change. I don't do many miles. 9 mile commute to work. So I just watch the dash percentage thingy.
