I caught a glimpse of an ORANGE TL with A-Spec wheels, spoiler and kit in downtown Chicago. The car had a nice paintjob and it was so head-turning. It was a beautiful metallic orange; I think it's very close to that famous Imola Orange that the NSX comes in I think?? I never thought the color would look good on the TL but it looked nice! I know I haven't seen the car up here on acurazine or meets, it was the 1st time I've ever seen a car like this. Anybody know about it??

It is way too expensive. Obviously the owner has money to throw.

But looks good from what I can see.

 

This is just to give you an idea but I had my entire exterior of GMC Envoy XL repainted NBP (Yay, it matches my TL-S) and it was around $8500. Insurance paid for this because I had parked next to a construction site and it was windy, needless to say I thought it was birdshit on my car rather it was actually cement.. What a true PITA this was, but good things do come out of problems. I chose not have the engine engine bays and interior door frames painted, because I don't plan on keeping her much longer anyway. It was already black so the door frames and engine bays don't look out of place at all.

 

I WANT MORE. Get out there and get some good pic's. I bet it looks fantastic.

Now I want to go hunting for it. I am about 45 minutes away......................

^^^Yeah, and like he said, that didn't include jams and the engine bay. But it was an SUV versus a car, so it's probably a wash in the end. Bottom line, $8-10k for a complete repaint.

 

Yeah a complete repaint is not cheap, but when insurance is paying who cares. If you want your TL repainted just come to hoboken and park near the new Westin their building.

Maybe I'll take some pics of the tl and envoy this weekend. Keep an eye open in the photograph gallery.

Anyway, back on topic. I WANT MORE PICS OF THIS CUSTOM PAINTED TL... damnit!

everyone knows accuratein.. hes like the superstar of the TLs on AZ lol.. If you dont know him you havent been on AZ very long. And hes not that two-tone,or crazy, since he changed his hood back to OEM, regardless his still looks hot

 

There was a thread about someone (in NY?) that had some crazy paint job...couldn't tell you about it because they hosted the pics somewhere that's blocked for me, but from the comments, I think it was some wierd green, almost irridescent/color changing.

Rockyfeller, did you get a look at the interior? I'll surmise that it's black inside. Call me crazy, but I just don't see Camel or Parchment working with an orange exterior.

I was at a red light downtown to make a left and I saw the other TL at a red light on the opposite side of the intersection about to make a right. I saw his A-Spec lip and wheels from a distance so I knew I had to take a good look at it. I happened to have my camera on me so I HAD to take an AZ shot. Light went green and I pulled out slow and let him pass. There was no time to think. I tossed the camera at my wife and told her to take a shot of the TL as my hands were busy turning the steering wheel. (mind you she was talking to me about some other gossip/jibberish and I interrupted her.....she thought I was paying attention to her....I was thinking about the orange TL!) She was like "Huh?? WhA?? Where? Don't get it???". I was like "Forget it!!!!!" He pulled left for a left hand turn. I had to stay right for my right hand turn. I grabbed the camera and that's how I got that blurry shot! LOL! I wanted some evidence otherwise you guys probably wouldn't have believed I saw "Bigfoot". I contemplated following him and chatting with him at the next red light, but I was in a hurry already to get somewhere and had I done that my wife would have definitely wacked me with an umbrella! I didn't get long enough to see other details or the interior, I was just checking that exterior out. One thing I did wonder is why he left his front grille stock silver instead of body color?? Another thing I will add is it's that A-Spec kit that really makes it look amazing. If the car was in stock trim it might have looked stupid.

Someone will surface here on AZ who has seen what I did. Chicago is too big for someone else to not know this car! You can see it a mile away, can't miss it!

 

I'm not sure if anyone saw the pictures from the Ron Jon meet in NY, but there was a two-tone Antracite TL. The top half was black, and the bottom half was Anthracite, will try to get the pictures soon as I find them.
