OIl filter
I usually just buy the Purolator pure one filter PL14610, but this past oil change I used the mobil1 m1-104 that was left over from my prelude h22a which is also the same filter used on the s2000 f20 and f22.
I think there is a thread some where on this board where they have pictures of the oem filter and aftermarket filters taken apart.

personally I think the K&N oil filters are a waste of money and I can usually get the filter off with a rag and hand strength. If you have problems removing oil filters buy this

They sell them at advanced for around the same price or cheaper.
Here is some good info on oil filters

Royal Purple. Definitely stop using OE filters. M1 are decent filters with an anti drainback valve & synthetic filter media but RP is better with a full wire backed syn media. Both are made by Champ labs but besides some mfg similarities, the RP filter is the only one I'd run on an extended OCI (7k - 12k). If you run a M1 filter I'd change it < 6k miles.
But if you don't dig my review.. this might help you out.

That's the best part. "Look at this fucking shit, fucking glue everywhere!" lol... The point being that there are 4 or 5 oil filter companies that make filters, but there are more than a dozen filter brands out there. This guy has no idea how to judge a filter but it's still entertaining. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the BITOG Hall of Fame.

Any oil filters would be OK for our cars IMO. For most part I doubt our cars would have a problem using a cheaper filter even for a lengthen amount of time/miles.

TurboD is the man.. that is a classic vid. Our engines are great but they're definitely not bulletproof to wear. Choosing the right oil & filter is very important. The one thing that I can vouch for is that the RP filter quickly stabilizes oil pressure. Something you FI guys should consider.. I know if IHC was here he could back up that statement.

Our engines are bulletproof to a certain point. Until a cheapo filter gets clogged up or the filter decides to dislodge itself and clog up the ports decreasing flow through the filter which is never a good thing. That's just some of the issues that can happen its rare but I would spend my money on a quality filter and oil for the car. If you run those for every 3k or so its fine. But synthetic isn't cheap so if you were to go that route I would recommend a non synthetic. I run Amsoil (this change im on is M1 because the dude i see is out of town) but they have there deal up to 15k miles I usually change it around 10k depending on my driving habits maybe a bit sooner. I do checkup on the oil and keep an eye on coloring and viscosity.
This is my last day here and I tried to pass this up but I can't.
The only stand out filters are Amsoil, Royal Purple, and Donaldson. All use a synthetic media and superior construction.
The Wix, Mobil One, K&N, etc are all good filters but they're battling it out for a distant 4th place or the best mediocre filter.
The synthetic media of the above filters allow it to filter better, flow better, and handle a higher contaminate load without a significant restriction. They're also not susceptible to moisture where the other normal filters' pore size will expand and allow larger crap through.
With regular filters you usually have to choose between flow or filtration. With the synthetic media you can have both.
Will any of these filters make a difference in engine life? Who knows but I suspect they will once you start getting into the higher mileage.
One thing I really like about the RP filters is the o-ring gasket which is less prone to getting stuck. I never use tools to get the filter off.
Also, you guys may want to check out Redline 5w-20 or 5w-30 oil if you want the best protection and cleanliness money can buy.
Majofo- It's been a pleasure. I'll shoot you a PM in a few.

I've been sold for quite some time on the Royal Purple filters, now it's just a matter of finding the best deal.
I would rather not drive an hour south to go pick one up, so is there an online retailer that has gotten you the most bang for your buck?
